Everyone just assumes Any Not Ange is a guarantee to be back among the European places in the league because through all the chaos of the past 20 years it always kinda worked out to around that level.

There could be a rude awakening coming if we fuck this up.

Exactly. And im not advocating for keeping Ange I just dont want someone with less pedigree than him.

It seems for some that winning The Europa League erases this seasons 30+ turgid performances, along with the shit-show we witnessed for the best part of the 23/24 season, all showing little tactical nous and individual player progress resulting in 22 loses this season in The EPL which is any clubs bread and butter. Added to this, this incompetent English Premier League manager has consistently been hypocritical along with blatantly lying in pre and post press meetings. He has also shown his obvious disdain and disrespect of our loyal fan base.
Honestly, would anyone on here want to have to experience another EPL season like the one we have just completed, but win The FA Cup?
If your out there and would happily live through another EPL 24/25 season but add The FA Cup to our trophy cabinet then as a Spurs supporter of over 55 years, this is something I could never comprehend as an advocate of the beautiful game, something endorsed by the great Bill Nicholson.
As every Saturday, Wednesday approaches I want to feel an air of excitement as I'm about to watch my beloved Spurs, not be cringing and embarrassed at the thought watching a poorly coached side who are constantly left exposed as such!

Thanks for your efforts in a dumbed down EL comp Ange, where again for most part our football lacked any imagination and swagger, bank your financial rewards and please never darken our doors again. PLEASE!

The spell he has on some people that that (admittedly great) night can make people instantly forget months of misery

A great night it was, but also one that saw one shot on target (a scruffy goal) and needed goal-line clearances and world class saves to save the day.

In many ways it was no better than our league performances, but with vastly more effort on the part of some to get back and defend.

As I said on the night, thanks for the cup but time to move on.

Oh yeah definitely N’Dombele & Lo Celso for a start + manager payoffs but me thinks we’re getting side tracked here there’s one constant in this situation he’s been in the thick of it we all no who it is! I’m no against Frank, Ange didn’t do himself any favours on numerous occasions against the press, fans ….if he rocks up (Frank) then I’ll support him and hope he does well i just think Postecoglou has bought himself time with the cup win that’s all.

Fair enough mate. We just disagree.

The Europa win was magnificent. A super achievement.

For me, and I think many others, the bread and butter of the league has shown a coach who won't deliver.

Last season actually showed more concern than this, where we finished outside of the CL positions, with no distraction. This season,league-wise just went from bad to worse. That's not sustainable, and a bad start next season could have serious ramifications.

its debatable if we even had a shot on target....

Our last two summer managerial searches have both been interminable shambles in which multiple mooted deals fell apart and we ended up with someone not even on the radar screen when the process began.

And continuing with that theme, it is once again totally unclear what the backroom setup is above the manager and who would even be making the decision.

Buckle up.

Sure but we’re taking Brentford manager Frank not Inzaghi or Xavi

No one assumes that. The league has changed massively in the last 10 years and Levy’s attitude to salaries will impede this club more than any manager ever could. It will be tough to reach the top 4 with our wage budget even if we had prime Klopp in charge.

But if are going to get blood from a stone then we need a manager who won’t lose to Leicester at home or set us up away to Everton with the most disrespectful, brain-dead back 3 system I’ve ever seen at the top level. We need a manager who knows their onions and can fashion a team that’s more than the sum of its parts.

Ange just isn’t that guy. The team is now relegation fodder and we play some of the worst football in our modern history despite hundreds of millions being spent on players.

“Everyone on here who disagrees with me is a gooner troll!”

99% of the forum wanted him gone pre final. It’s just that most people are intelligent enough to not have changed their mind based on one game against Manchester United.

You always wanted him here & have used that to justify it now so it’s not surprising. We should go ahead and replace him with Di Matteo, blokes won Europe’s BEST trophy so must be a better coach, right?!

Totally how football works.

Don't worry- Richard and Dudu are so easily annoyed they put you on ignore anyways 😂

Well put.

If you prioritize the one competition where glory is possible at the expense of a few quid from league positions, you get sacked by these clowns.

The game might be about glory for fans but not for Levy.

I think that's weak argument really.

It wasn't a few quid from league positions - we've broken records for ineptitude in the league and have average a point per game over the whole season.

If Levy was only concerned about money this argument wouldn't make sense. Finishing 7th and not winning the Europa would have kept him employed whilst being far, far, FAR less profitable for the club.

In this sense he was effectively sacked in January but we've let him see out the Europa - a criticism that was levied (pun intended) against the Mourinho sacking.

Only at Spurs do we win our first major piece of silverware since 1984. Sack the manager and go afterThe Brentford manager who *checks notes* finished 10th...

And then we all debate for thousands of hours of type on here why this club is such a basket case...

Maybe you all think signing Frank means Mbeumo comes with... I've got no other explanation..

This is Brentford who had no European football and barely any injuries to contend with.

Madness if true
