I find it strange that at the start of the season the majority of sentiment on here was fuck the league, just win a trophy.
I don’t find it strange at all as most Spurs fans (including myself) wanted that trophy monkey off our back.

What I find particularly strange is that several posters who are advocating retaining Ange keep trotting out the hypothetical ‘Wouldn’t you take 17th and a Champions League?’ as if keeping Ange is a certainty that will happen! 🤯

You can still celebrate the trophy win, but recognise we really can’t accept another league season like that on the slim chance Ange pulls the rabbit out the hat with a trophy win against much more superior opposition.

Whichever way you slice it Levy acting with zero class as usual . Either sack him or make a statement saying he is staying . In my opinion the only reason Levy is stringing Ange along is he is sniffing around other managers to see if anyone does not tell him to fuck right off.

We are not at Jol levels of scumminess YET , but we appear to be working on it .

I am Ange out and if we cannot feel confident in sacking him knowing we can attract better it shows how far we have fallen as an attractive opportunity for a manager . Show some class Spurs sack him or say he is staying instead of sneaking around behind his back .

All the above admittedly is just opinion but with the season over I can see no reason to not either fire or confirm him . Pretty disgusting in my view .
We’ve no idea why it’s taking so long so why assume the negative?

For all we know there maybe negotiations agreeing a severance package and NDA wording, or we’re also trying to agree new manager terms before announcing.

Silence to the public doesn’t necessarily mean the parties involved don’t know what’s going on.

Sheer madness, all this in-forum debate.

The facts speak for themselves and in Nited we have and Ten Hag's FA Cup victory last season, a real insight into what's likely to happen if change isn't made.

If Levy and co call it wrong then it's a travesty of ownership.

Instead of us actively building a squad with abundant gaps we are in the words of Private Leonard Pyle, in a world of sh!t.

Putting all my bias aside, I honestly believe Ange will be staying. He has performed, contractually, perfectly. In his 2 seasons he has returned us to European football, won a European trophy and qualified for the riches of the CL.
Irrespective of your thoughts on our league performances, he absolutely has earned the right to start the season.
It seems though it’s a case of damned if you do and damned if you don’t for a lot on here

There's a massive difference between falling short in the league despite our best efforts and playing like a fucking pub team all season and finishing 17th.

Reaching the point where I travel for hours fully expecting to watch us get battered isn't sustainable. This season must be a one off, and in saying that I don't believe Ange has the tools to turn that around. I don't see what's so controversial about this.

I understand your point however the season needs to be looked at in totality.
Massive injury crisis (irrespective who you blame for it) so bin the league and manage the squad to win what was reasonably achievable, the EL. With that comes the double bonus of winning a trophy AND securing the wealth of the Champions League. The CL was surely a performance clause in his contract, hence Levy’s reluctance to pull the pin.
I don’t see what’s so controversial about that.

And yet, here you are, on the internet, a grown man, calling another man a fat cunt because he lost some football games and upped his ear?

Do you hear yourself?

He did it cos fans like you have been calling him a fat cunt to his face for months because they don't know how to process losing football games? You feel embarrassed by the way another human being manages a team? Fucking hell..... get some therapy.

No need for the therapy addition, but that sentiment aside, yes.

Or he's on holiday (ange) and it lacks class to do so during that period.

My prediction is that if it happens, it'll be during the CWC when there's a lot of noise. Right now it'd be amplified as it's the only thing of interest happening

Levy clearly been more focused on Cullen and Collecot than the actual manager of our football team.

Mainly because the loyalty of this two were key pillars in his ability to stay in power

Football always comes second to his power to call the shots

Literally out of the dictionary. Is the Europa League of inferior quality to the CL?
"
adjective

  1. of mediocre or inferior quality.

You wrote 'second rate' and second rate is a wholly negative term. Second tier is obviously the level below the top level in competitive sport but that doesn't mean that it's a negative situation to be in or fails to offer teams the chance to display high quality football. I've seen Europa finals that were of a higher quality than our CL final against Liverpool.

People moan when he does and moan when he doesn't. He's never been the mouthpiece of the club in 24 years and does chairman stuff of official communication now and again.

"He should stay out of football stuff"
"Why isn't he involved in the football stuff"

"He should leave football stuff to football people"
"Why doesn't Levy care about the football stuff"

At some point you're all going to have to let that aspect go and accept that there's several people in the club that are going to make this decision and communicate this. I expect right now that would be Vinai.

It's not like Levy is suddenly silent like some weird "David Gold" type persona.

People are anticipating some kind of change because of a shit league season, but as far as it goes it's the end of season break so it's weird to be anticipating anything expect for people who want him gone. It isn't normal to confirm the manager is still the manager in the default scenario. Has never happened in any summer previous.

Can’t agree , I’ve seen this movie to many times . In my opinion he has already had a few jog ons , he wants Ange gone but can’t bin him without a decent manager to replace him . Not easy with Levy’s rep
