Last game of the season, less than a couple of weeks back...

This is all true and is the strong case for Ange Out.

All I'm really saying is that if Ange has a plan to get older and deeper and more experienced as a squad, show some tactical flexibility especially away in Europe, be thoughtful and take the best medical advice into account on training and the like (and he has said some of this stuff publicly, this isn't pure fiction), I am willing to hear him out with an open mind and good faith.

The way he's managed the team his first two years here would not be suited to the challenge we face immediately in the coming months. But I have a lot more respect for the good he's done in attacking the challenges as they existed when he got the job. It's not post-hoc bullshit to say winning a trophy, any trophy, was item #1 on his to-do list. Reinventing a wretched, broken (and losing!) playing style was another. Turning over the squad and getting younger was another.

We need to be ruthless and put our absolute best foot forward for our coming challenges as they exist. Lots of reason for skepticism that Ange is that option. But taking a minute to think and listen is well earned and well worth it.

Some fucking excellent posts on this place tonight.

This is another one

I think I can understand why there is silence from the club despite so many rumours about Ange being likely sacked, as I believe that Levy is confident that he will have a replacement ready (but who?).

There were reports that Levy has already spoken to Frank and if that is true, then I think that Frank has accepted Levy’s terms.

However I do think that Frank isn’t Levy’s first choice and is only a backup option if Levy can’t get his preferred option.

Glasner has publicly stated that it’s 99% likely that he will be with CP next season. Why didn’t he state that it would be 100% likely. Has he given Levy (or another club) a chance to speak to him and offer a contract that he would happily accept?

I want Ange out as I don’t want to go through another season watching the same uninspiring football, but I want a better coach / manager to replace him. It might be Glasner or somebody else (that may be Levy’s first choice).

I am thankful for Ange’s part in helping us get a long awaited trophy but I don’t see us winning the CL or PL under him next season or any time after that.

Meanwhile I’m keeping my fingers crossed in hope of us getting a replacement soon.

Not sure why, the Ange fanboys have been braying that even someone who ended his second year with us in 17th place and earns 1 ppg over 2 seasons just needs more time, and we have to be patient.

It would only follow that they ought to be willing to give a new manager the start of a third season in order to have plenty of time to right the ship.
They are already doing it, going at other coaches because they haven't won a trophy, avoiding all context to it while hailing Postecoglou as the greatest gift despite him having one of the worst league seasons in nearly a hundred years .

That link wasn’t the first season I was talking out my arse when I said first season. I eyeballed it but we had multiple injury crises under Geoff Scott
/
Even the side we put out the same day that article was published only had 4 nailed on starters out in Eriksen, Alli, Vert and Dembele. Considering we bought absolutely fucking no one in the Summer window that year it's hardly too shocking or blameworthy of any staff at the club that players who had no adequate backup had been played into the ground that calendar year, also a World cup year, not to mention we were contesting a CL campaign so no dead rubber matches vs the likes of Elfsborg, Qarabag and Ferencvaros in the group stage to rotate in.

Fail to see how that compares with this:

Our lineup vs Villa in Jan, eleven squad members missing. Geoff Scott might have been a weird looking fucker but he was never responsible for us putting out this diabolical of a lineup.

Lol... some of the flouncing about in these last 15 pages has been truly wondrous to read. Grown men stamping their feet and threatening to leave the club because the bag bad Aussie is so owwible... :roflmao:

Almost enough to make me want Levy to change his mind and give Ange a big new contract just to see the melts. :D

Almost...
You've been the biggest melt in the thread these past 48 hours 😆

You can’t with a straight face accuse others of avoiding all context in one breath, and then in the next immediately avoid all context yourself by calling last season one of the worst seasons in nearly 100 years.

Context: despite finishing 17th and losing 22 games, Spurs won a major European trophy and qualified for the Champions League. Was last season worse than the season before Postecoglou arrived, finishing 8th whilst winning nothing and failing to qualify for Europe?

Trophy + Europe vs No trophy and no Europe. You know, context?

Why do people think our league form will change under Ange going into his third season?

The worrying trend is we've been getting worse in the league under Ange with every passing week.

How the hell is he going to balance CL and PL?
Something he's clearly demonstrated he can't cope with, dealing with multiple competitions.

When we're mid table (or worse) and out of the all cups maybe the penny will drop.
He's not going to. He's going to forget about them and go all in on the Carabao Cup.
