Interesting to know why you think he will do alright and are biased about it... I have asked a few other Frank In forum members but they haven't been able to substantiate anything that would point to Frank being the right man. Like you said though, whoever we pick (assuming it won't be Ancelotti) is not going to be universally liked and there will be a group (me included if it's a mid table PL clogger) who will start hounding the new manager out the door before a ball has been kicked.

Well, there is no excuse not to have a bit of patience with a new manager now we have the EL trophy in the bag. If Ange goes, give the new bloke news a 4 year contract, a few transfer windows and a bit of time to get things going.

but we're currently stuck with Ange...

I think that's the problem with ange being a "Fiesta" in the comparison. He's not, really. He's a delorean DMC12. Not very fast, not very practical, but very expensive and somehow lusted after for taking us back to the 80s whilst causing mayhem along the way

What a load of nonsense

Facts :
i) Brentford do not have Academy
ii) Brentford wages 19th in league

Frank is the 3rd longest serving manager for any club (currently) in all of English league , behind harrogate manager & Pep. In this he took Brentford to premier league and kept them in PL for 4 seasons....Not only kept them, he has done it with no fuss finishing in midtable

The season his side finished 16th, he lost his main striker to ban for 8 months + had 16 injuries with 11 of them requiring surgeries. Of these injuries only 2 were muscle injuries....so mostly out of his control.

You are saying you expect the 19th highest wage giving side to be placed in Conference league ???

You think he has not over achieved at Brentford ?

Again, what a load of nonsense....
Facts. Frank has won nothing in his managerial career. Facts.

We have no idea what's going on behind closed doors. As far as we know he's staying and Ange doesn't want statements and press released. Or maybe they've agreed to part ways but keep it quiet for now.

It's shoddy to the fans, but it probably looks different inside.

People seem to think they deserve to know the inner most workings of the club. I'm sure the wheels are turning, probably slowly but something will be happening. Personally, seeing our fan base online the last two weeks, I wouldnt be telling them a fucking thing either, they're idiots.

I dont think Frank is anyones first choice is he? I can think off the top of my head of Glasner, Poch, Iraola, Xavi, De Zerbi who i'd take over him. But he's not some bumbling idiot, he's a decent manager who's punched above his weight with the resources he's had. He might be another Nuno or Eddie Howe. Its not an exact science, some managers just fit. Besides if he's average to poor then summer 2026 you have Naglesmann, Tuchel, Poch and Glasner out of contract.
De Zerbi would be a recipe for disaster at Spurs. The implosion would be worse than Contes.

I think you're looking at it all wrong.
Frank isn't going to win the league. Or the CL.
But 99.9% of the managers we employ aren't either.
Nor is Ange.
We just need to be better than last season.
Frank is a better all round coach than Ange, and I have no doubt, if given the grace Ange was, could have won the Europa league with us as well.

We as a club might need to play chess a bit here and think a few steps ahead. Frank to get us back up to being a top 5/6 team every season.
That's the first step. Then you look at a coach who can push on that little bit further, maybe top 3 and good shot at cups.
And then, if we have managed that for 5-6 years, you go for, and successfully attract, a generational coach.
Frank has shown nothing to suggest he can get us into the top five or six. With a squad not stretched by midweek European football, the best he has done is 9th. Ange at least managed to finish 5th in his first season - does he not get any credit for that. I want Ange gone, but not if it means replacing him with mid table cloggers who win fuck all. A club of our stature should be in win mode now every fucking season. I am not prepared to play chess for a season or two. If we replace Ange with Frank a man whose accomplishments you can write on the back of a stamp and still have space for a shopping list, then we are waving the white flag.

And the only times we've hired managers with bone fide credentials it has backfired every time, apart from Conte's first season.

Yes, there are bigger problems holding us back and they come in the shape of an old geezer who lives on a boat and a bald midget. But the managers we've hired with more humble management backgrounds like Harry and Poch are the ones who made us feel like we really belonged at the business end of the table.

It's the IF Postecoglou goes that is the concept that completely gets me.

I can certainly see a situation where he stays and we get 2/3 average signings, and fail to win in our first 6 to 8 games.

Then we will be fcuked.

My confidence in the direction of this club is close to rock bottom.

Last 10 years of cup winners. Haven't included ECL - haven't looked at data

Both those managers were here at a completely different era though mate - completely uncomparable to the PL in its current state.

Now, you are moving the goal post...

You said 'He did not over achieve in Brentford'

Own up & say you were wrong.... and stop moving goal posts :)

Frank has managed only Brondby & Brentford in his managerial career. Brondby arent the biggest team either in the league. Brentford did win the playoff to get promoted. So , he did win something significant. Infact, probably the biggest game in Brentford history.

Btw, are you really saying, 19th wages club in league has the right to win anything ?
If thats the level you want Frank to be performing, may be Ange then should be winning the treble last season, which he didnt.
