He won automatic promotion from Serie B in his lone season at Siena, which got him the Juventus job that offseason.

His two Arezzo tenures and his Atalanta one were 12, 14 and 15 games respectively.

Technically, though, he still won fuck all there.

He has a habit of saying "If you give me the best team in the league and the biggest budget, I will won a trophy" which is a bit like claiming you can win any race as long as you have the biggest and fastest car/horse.
A lot of the managers who are "the best" on paper really do float by on that technicality.

Would anyone really say they remember Ancelloti at Everton, based on his record everywhere else? different job when you're not destined to win

No he didn't actually and I saw a few of them. The 2019 one I am sure you watched - Liverpool were almost as shit as we were.

If you think Poch wasn't up to the job I hate to think what you have to say about every other Manager we have had for the last 40 years.

I didn't watch the ones he LOST.

You have more insight into this than me.

There are only 3 managers in our recent history who have managed to get us over the line and win an actual trophy, like them, hate them, whatever you want to feel.

Poch ain't one of them, and when he had the opportunity, he didn't rise to the occasion.

As you rightly said, Klopps Liverpool looked pretty shit that night too, and we couldn't muster a thing.

The proof is always in the pudding mate. If Poch was up to it, he would have won something, but he wasn't, so he didn't.

That doesnt take away from the team he built, from the football we played consistently over 2.5 seasons.... but he wasn't a winner, and I don't think he has what it takes tactically to be one consistently.

I don't see it that way - outside the top six plus Villa and Newcastle, the remaining teams are all much of a muchness so would expect them to be filling 9th to 17th especially as Championship sides are cannon fodder for the bottom three. Let's say one or two of the established big 8 underperform (us and Man U) then there is an opportunity to grab 7th or 8th which Forest and Brighton did but I know what you're all going to say... they're massive clubs!!! much bigger than Brentford... so okay, what about the team that finished 9th. Bournemouth... they only got 11,000 fans to Brentford's 17,000. Their revenue was 161m compared to Brentford's 166m. They both lost their main striker but Bournemouth did spend about 9m more on player salaries than Brentford but by all accounts not so much apart to make a significant difference. Should we therefore rank Ireola's achievements ahead of Frank and be clambering for him to join us.
There's been plenty of clamouring on here for Iraola though?

The clubs in the PL are not much of a muchness. Like even Brighton and Wolves spend £20m a year more on salaries than Brentford, these are significant differences when their total wage bill is only £45m.

But as we all know a £75m players can be as much use as free transfer. What Brentford lack in revenue and lets face it they are only a few million behind the likes of Brighton, Wolves, Everton and Forest they make up with good scouting... or does Frank do all the scouting too!!!

Playing 12 fewer games, including maybe only 3 midweek games?

Losing to Plymouth?

Ange finished 11 places higher than him the previous season when neither had europe and whilst we were, according to most on here, complete shit.

so.

I'm sorry but this is bullshit. We're fucking Spurs, there is no other club of our size which would accept finishing 17th, 18 points behind Brentford then hide behind European competition being the reason. That's just a copout. Big clubs deal with being in Europe year in year out, it's a tragic excuse.
