It’s the right decision. I think even the fans that are proclaiming to be enraged by this know deep down that a train crash was awaiting us very early next season if we kept him.

I was a big advocate of his and tbh I think if he had got a few more players in pivotal positions to really make his system work (namely a top class 6/regista and higher quality touch line wingers) he could have been much much better, but alas as is the story with every manager under ENIC that didn’t happen, and after the performances last season Levy sure as hell wasn’t going to back him now even if he did decide to keep him.

The question now once again is where do we go from here? I like many others find the Frank rumours highly worrying and surely there is another iron(s) in the fire.
The reality is Frank plays boring uninspiring football, doesn’t really have any pull factor for players, and has never managed a club close to the size of Spurs. He also plays predominantly 3 at the back, which would mean another radical shift in player personnel at the club and more playing square pegs in round holes because the club won’t sign him the players to really implement what he wants. I genuinely think it’s a disaster for waiting to happen.

Between Frank, Iraola and Silva, the 3 options most routinely linked, I would personally take the latter two all day.

Like winning another trophy. Fucking yes. Get in. Unbelievably good and mature decision from the club. Can’t believe I’m about to say this but well done Levy for making a good choice.

Shockingly good statement:

Following a review of performances and after significant reflection, the Club can announce that Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties.

Ange joined us from Celtic in the summer of 2023 and oversaw a period of change on the pitch, returning us to the attacking brand of football that has traditionally been associated with the Club, while writing a new chapter in our history by leading us to UEFA Europa League glory in Bilbao last month - an achievement that will live with us all forever.

We are extremely grateful to Ange for his commitment and contribution during his two years at the Club. Ange will always be remembered as only the third manager in our history to deliver a European trophy, alongside legendary figures Bill Nicholson and Keith Burkinshaw.

However, the Board has unanimously concluded that it is in the best interests of the Club for a change to take place. Following a positive start in the 2023/24 Premier League (PL) season, we recorded 78 points from the last 66 PL games. This culminated in our worst-ever PL finish last season. At times there were extenuating circumstances - injuries and then a decision to prioritise our European campaign. Whilst winning the Europa League this season ranks as one of the Club’s greatest moments, we cannot base our decision on emotions aligned to this triumph.

It is crucial that we are able to compete on multiple fronts and believe a change of approach will give us the strongest chance for the coming season and beyond. This has been one of the toughest decisions we have had to make and is not a decision that we have taken lightly, nor one we have rushed to conclude. We have made what we believe is the right decision to give us the best chance of success going forward, not the easy decision.

We have a talented, young squad and Ange has given us a great platform to build upon. We should like to express our gratitude to him. We wish him well for the future - he will always be welcome back at our home.

News on the appointment of a new Head Coach will be announced in due course.
A statement that reveals, as always, that Levy reads and listens to absolutely all the chatter in the media.

What a fucking weird take. He took Brentford, a league 1 team and league 1 stadium to top half of the PL.

Look he might work. He might not work. No one actually knows. We ain’t getting Slot or Pep (and who is to say they would be a fit with ENIC in charge). No one has a crystal ball
Why is it a weird take... because it differs with yours. Might as well get Johnny Jackson from AFC Wimbledon... might work, might not. Also, it was Mark Warburton who took Brentford from League 1 to the Championship.

Bang on.

I get the league losses but you have to laugh that we sack the guy after breaking out 17 year trophy draught , like I said I get the losses in the league are not acceptable but when you look at it at face value - win a European Trophy and get sacked and replaced by the manager from Brentford!:ange-facepalm2:

Didn't think they would have the balls to do it. Fair play, probably the right decision overall but fuck me the optics and vibes are going to be terrible in the short term.

Never a normal moment at Tottenham that's for sure
