Had the final gone the other way, all these press idiots would be saying 'worst league finish since 1928' and brand him worst ever.....

Btw , when Ange came in, did you say 'Lets be Yokohoma, Lets be Celtic '...Woo hoo ????? 🤷‍♂️

People have a go at Brentford, forgetting Ange came from SPL
People have a go at Levy, when Levy also appointed Ange in first place.

Ange is not sacked for EL win, he is sacked for going back on his philosophy, his word on how he always want to win (even if that win could mean Arse lift the title)...., his tactical naivety and unable to stop the rot that began in December 2023 in league....

He is gone, move on now.
We move on when we want to move on, not at a whim from you!

My issue is that Frank isn’t going to be hired because Levy believes he has a high ceiling and will push us to the next level.

He is being hired because he can get a lot out of very little (based on his time at Brentford at least) and will be easy to contain and mold within the structure Levy wants.

That doesn’t inspire confidence for me personally.

But if we do hire Frank he will get my full backing regardless.

They got their big breaks because of their playing careers. Don’t be silly.

You think even the most amazing Barca B coach is getting the Barca job if they aren’t big time players?
Of course, but it wasn't based on their management ability which is my point. And it is still a risk. And I'm sure some clubs have hired ex-players that went bad.

I'm responding to the point that having previous managerial experience is an important criteria to some people. The point is that there is some risk involved and looking at a CV doesn't make it a good (or bad) appointment.

The Ange Outers don't see that though.

Could it be that the excitement if achieving things is too much for them? Perhaps they took a shine to Spurs when we were bang average in the pre-Redknapp days. Maybe they yearn for that.

Have one decent player, like a Ginola, and a load of dross elsewhere. Rarely get into Europe. Keep it simple. Nothing too hopeful

Maybe that's what is going on here. Maybe that is the clinical explanation for these Ange Outers who seeming like to harm our own best interests.

I'm trying to understand it, Fatty, I'm trying. I really am
For what its worth here's my reasons, and I suspect the reasons a very large percentage of Spurs fans wanted Ange out. 90% of the football he has been offering up these past 18 months in all comps, including the EL final, has been nothing short of turgid, complete and utter shite, week in, week out and showing us that he has little to no idea how to change it. Its either all guns blazing or no guns blazing (EL final as an example).
As a Spurs fan from the late 60's I want to see my beloved Tottenham play with flare, imagination and a swagger win, lose or draw. I don't see an ounce of any of that in an Ange Postecoglou Spurs side.

Just for a second, humour me and forget we won The EL. Would you still want AP as our manager? If so what are you seeing that I obviously can not, but if your reasoning is just because he won us long awaited silverware, then you would be telling me that you would be happy to (potentially) again in 25/26, watch the same shite week in, week out as long as we won a domestic trophy for example?

If this is the case then I'm guessing it must be a generational view of the game these days and one I will never understand my friend.

gotta give him a chance, watch them videos on youtube of him talking tactics, hes a football scientist compared to the caveman we just had, you'd never see postecoglou doing that as he knows he would be ridiculed.

it seems like its between silva and frank now.....the manager market is a strange one, theres no one that is clear out there as the next big thing.

Why is there still bickering in here, the Ange outers got their wish - thread has moved to general and he is no longer our manager anymore

We can now live in peace 😎

As a person who has also been a Spurs fan from the 60's I disagree and think he need to be given another go but I agree to disagree!

Which is why people scoffing at the idea of a player unrest are deluded.

Ex players get hired so fast, mainly because they will have the respect of the dressing room.

Any manager going into Spurs now will notice that not one player spoke out to support Conte when he left. They are all coming out with personally written heart felt praise for Ange.

It’s really not going to be an easy dressing room to walk into.

Interested to see if you get an answer to this question

Not sure anyone has really thought about what the reality of what appointing Frank really says about what’s to come for our club
I do like Thomas Frank and respect what he's achieved, and I'm not surprised at all he's Levy's pick. We're a B-list club doing B-list things when it comes to pretty much everything, incl manager and player recruitment. Shouldn't be the case, especially after winning the EL and qualifying for the CL, but Levy gonna Levy. He's never ever gonna break his shitty mould and push on like the 9th richest club in the world should. His whole strategy is to try & strike gold on the cheap, like he did with Poch and failed spectacularly with the Blob (despite that fluke trophy).

That might be the case, but considering the absolute shit that I've watched this past season in the league the dressing room isn't something I really care all that much about.

Depends who walks in, a manager with emotional intelligence and charisma will win the vast majority of them over.

As much as they all loved Ange they will get over it, they're not children, players ultimately are there to serve themselves at the end of the day.
