In January 2024 he rejected the idea that a single trophy could ever constitute satisfaction or atone for mediocrity elsewhere (“You can’t just sit back and say: ‘I’ve just delivered a trophy, shouldn’t I have some latitude to not be successful?’”). In October 2024 he insisted that Tottenham’s league performance should be regarded as the “most meaningful” measure of his side’s progress.

:ange-hmm:
Some people are so fucking dumb, many still pontificating in this thread that the deserve to be conned by a fraud like this. I'm sorry but this bloke has zero principals; says he don't care when evidently he is thin skinned, didn't cup his ear at the fans obvious lie, always attack even if we are down to five players low block and counter. The football has nothing to do with the injuries ..oh yes it does. A trophy means nothing oh no it means everything. If the directors were as dumb and kept him on they would be complete jokes.

"... there may never have been a manager better at defining his own terms of achievement; a managerial reign so evidently built upon a towering silo of nuclear-strength bullshit."

Jonathan Liew's not holding back today.

Any idea which side of the debate he sits on?

(Tbf, i think he mentions something about not sacking him about halfway thru, iirc)
He thinks of Ange as a Farage-like figure. It doesn't matter if there's much in the way of substance when the power of persuasion is the element that brings others onboard. So I'm guessing he's admiring and deriding him in equal measure.

It's a good article though because it highlights the many contradictions on evidence throughout Ange's reign.

We got a trophy and he's gone so I'm cool with how it's all turned out. Win-Win.
