Postecoglou's a good fit for Forest. They both like to bask in their 'underdog' and 'nobody appreciates us' whingeing personas.

Long may they underperform together.

Think I might have to put this thread back in my favs again, some good memories in here and it's gonna be kinda funny if he does well to see people come up with all sorts of mental gymnastics hehe :mourhandlaugh:
Will you do another ‘sorry I had to disappear because I fell too deep in the cult’ apology this time if/when he fails or was that just a one time thing?

“Interestingly I saw a stat on Sky earlier that said Ange's win percentage at Spurs is 46% which was a little surprising, mainly because I think a lot of people, myself included, forget he finished 5th with Spurs too.

So his win percentage is better than Nuno's, was his Spurs team better than Forest? First season yes, second season, probably not.

I don't really know what my point is here tbh, I think I'm probably just searching for the positives to say let's see what happens and it might work out.“
Personally, I think it'll be a good fit...

Unlike the moment he walked through the door at Spurs, there's no real PRESSURE on Forest to finish Top 4...

It would be more of a pleasant surprise if he does manage them to anywhere higher than 8th... but in all likelihood, I see a lower-mid table finish, and a go at ONE of the Cups... It's what he does mate! He'll be happy enough with that, and I can't imagine Forest fans will DEMAND trophies... even though they've at least won the League in my lifetime, so, like Villa, have a slightly over inflated opinion of their success compared to their size! (Like no doubt Leicester fans will have in about 10 Years' time!)

The only thing I don’t like is that Frank had a losing points records against him last season.

Other than that I will be glad to watch ange ball grind NFs squad into dust.
Well we don't play Forest til December, so until then he can have all the "Honeymoon period" and fast starts he wants... Starting THIS WEEKEND!

Are we still talking about him? I understand a brief mention on the day he was appointed to Forest, but Jesus Christ, can we move on?

Those who hate him and those who love him are equally obsessed. It's so bloody wearying.

Ange still living rent free! Is this thread going to be active every time he does a press conference for Forest? :ange-arms:

I couldn't care how he gets on at Forest. He won us a trophy so there won't be any hate on my side but I don't want him to succeed there either. However, I would love if they got a result on Saturday against Woolwich!
I think that's exactly it....
No hard feelings, he/we won a much needed trophy and he's/we've moved on.

There's only 3 Forest/Ange games I'll take an interest in now... Saturday's and the 2 against us...

The rest can look after themselves for all I care! (Unless we're the two clubs battling it out for 4th come May... then I'll show some interest!!

I am happy he was sacked. But also I find it really interesting whether he will prove that i was wrong.

I'm 99% sure his time at Forest will be failure, but i will definitely watch some of their games till he is there.

My thoughts...

Have him it makes perfect sense to hire him because he's successful in the competition Forest are in & he's already on friendly terms with Big Mak.

The last 5 years the managers who won the Europa League were :-

2024-25Tottenham HotspurAnge Postecoglou
2023-24AtalantaGian Piero Gasperini
2022-23SevillaJosé Luis Mendilibar
2021-22Eintracht FrankfurtOliver Glasner
2020-21VillarrealUnai Emery
2019-20SevillaJulen Lopetegui

There's a reason why we recognise those Managers/Head Coaches...

If Forest win it I don't care like the times the others did - it's not my club & I know we as a fanbase hate Forest because of the Transfer Window but honestly? I don't take the Transfer window as a competition like most. I take football competitions seriously because stats on paper don't win football matches...

We forget that Forest are in the situation as us last season - 4 comps will I follow their route? FUKK NO do I want them to win it FUKK NO...their fans will say WHY DA HATE erm it aint just you it's ANY prem club that wins anything I don't support them I support Spurs but they don't get it...

Ange Poste-who? Never heard of him.

Forest scored 58 goals last season, tied with Villa and Bournemouth for the lowest among top 10, 20 of which came from a 33 yr old Chris Wood in what was clearly an outlier of a season for him. Elanga, their third (?) highest scorer with 6, is also gone.

Even here, despite eye catching numbers in both seasons, due to very uneven distribution of these goals there were dry spells where we actually looked very toothless up front. We would score 4 at Etihad, put 5 past Southampton and then average one a game for the next few.

I don't know where the goals will come from for them honestly. Even if newly added strikers ensure that strikers will have Wood's most recent output between them (20) at the very least, none of Hudson-Odoi, McAtee, Bakwa are likely to hit the double digits. And MGW already scored 7 last season in a Nuno team, so I'm not sure how much more Ange or any manager can get out of him.

He can't afford another season where his team ships 60+. Numbers just don't add up.

Apologies to all the Ange admirers, but why are we still talking about this very poor premier league manager who got lucky in The EL?
Mickey Vander Van, doesn't make that acrobatic clearance and Utd go on to win The EL. Are we still remembering narcissistic Ange?
