Apologies to all the Ange admirers, but why are we still talking about this very poor premier league manager who got lucky in The EL?
Mickey Vander Van, doesn't make that acrobatic clearance and Utd go on to win The EL. Are we still remembering narcissistic Ange?

It's silly misguided one sided comments like this is the reason why you get push back BTW

I think he’s a bit of an odious prick at times.

Then at times I think he is ok so I’d say overall I’m indifferent about him. But that arrogance and gruffness he has is never far from the surface and he has a huge chip on his shoulder and insecurity which stems from somewhere, but it’s definitely there which you don’t really see from other PL managers.

And I hated the shit he said and did as Spurs manager which just showed he was a complete clown and out of his depth.

On to Forest, I think it’s going to be a car crash there. He's a bizarre choice by Marinakis. Although recent form by Nuno hasn’t been as good, which surprises me. 4 wins in 20 or something. But overall Nuno was a success no doubt and he did that by building a very good defence, being hard to beat and got the best out of Wood and the other attackers.

Marinakis clearly feels they have another gear and Ange can win them stuff. I think it’s mental appointing the manager who guided Spurs to our worst ever PL league season just a few months ago.

They’ll be more attacking (reckless) and will be far more open and concede goals. Ange won’t change. He’s brought the same awful coaching staff, he’ll play exactly the same way. All of the league has worked it out.

No doubt he’ll probably get a few big scoring wins on the rare occasions it clicks but no way is his football seeing Forest finishing higher than they did under Nuno.

We always see in this league that pragmatism tops all out attacking open football. Especially if you aren’t the best team in there league.

I can’t wait to watch this disaster from afar. So glad he isn’t our problem anymore.

I quite liked him up until the ear cupping stunt...after that...

He lost me at the Man City/Woolwich thing in the first season. He didnt need to say anything but couldnt help himself and just wound everyone up because he wanted to look the big man. Didnt care so much apparently throwing the league fixtures in the latter part of the last season (which I think is more than bending of the truth).

well he's an a millionaire outsider, he can't really ever understand despite what he says about the old firm. losing as a coach and as a fan are quite different.
As a basic principle i agree with what he tried to say, you should never want spurs to lose, especially with a top 4 place at stake. The clubs success should overrule all...
However, that was a very very special circumstance. Arsena winning the league, and doing it because we helped them would have been such a prime embarrassment for all us normal folk, that would lasted far beyond that summer. he didn't seem to get that aspect of it. It's not something that lasts a few days, but years and all it would've done is add to the Spursy legend

Yeah I’m with you on that. Ange couldn’t resist using the Forest press conference to circle back to his “oppressed Aussie manager” narrative again, which just reinforces that chip on his shoulder. I swing between thinking he’s tolerable and then finding him really grating – the arrogance and insecurity are always bubbling away. Agree it’s a strange appointment by Marinakis and feels destined to unravel quickly.

Hate maybe too strong but i dont like him. In all my time supporting us i've only actively disliked 3 people when at the club, Sugar, Mourinho and Postecoglou. All similar personality types, arrogant, rude, narcissitic, and a refusal to take any responsibility.

Some of his comments from that City game onwards were just antagonistic. 4 spats with the fans last season at Bournemouth, Leicester, Chelsea and Fulham. Totally obnoxious to journos post match, particulaly the female ones. Just thought he was a really poor figurehead for the club. It all seemed so amateurish and thats before you get onto his tactics.

Nobody was asking the side to down tools and actively ensure that we lost, he conjured that entire argument out of nowhere all by himself and got himself so worked up over it that he actually placed more importance on that one game than any of the others we were playing at the time.

It was galling at the time because we were, with a pretty much full squad available incidentally, putting in piss poor half arsed performances all over the place, wasn't it just a couple of games before that we were 3-0 down at home in the NLD by half time? And yet, seemingly just to spite our own fans, he had them psyched up to the gills for this match, and even threw in some tactical tweaks to try and catch City out!

I'm sorry, but all fans were asking for was just to produce more of the same shit that he'd been serving up in the run up.

To then add further salt to that wound the following season, turns out Mr Can'tstandtolosenomatterthecircumstances actually didn't mind losing that much at all, to the extent that he actively chose to throw the league from about gameweek 7 in order to preserve his own always wins a trophy in his second season bluster. Guarantee if he'd not managed to bring home the EL that he'd have been passing off a Manager of the Month award as his trophy.

He lost me against Chelsea, when we should have lost 9 nil. Defending on the halfway line. It just showed me that this guy is an absolute nutcase and so so arrogant and stubborn and we were totally screwed.

Also after yet again being beaten by Woolwich saying “it’s who we are mate” I don’t want to see that shit. I want a manager who will set a team up to win and adjust if needed. That combined with the Chelsea stuff just showed me we have a total fraud clown.

Then the run in on his first season getting battered by Liverpool and Newcastle. I would have sacked him the summer of the first season. No doubt at all.

Yeah spot on. The hypocrisy was outrageous. How he couldn’t see that we wouldn’t have even been in that position against city if we just picked up a couple more points. But no, under Ange we stunk the place out every week and lost so many games so he created that horrible position where the fans had to want us to lose to stop Woolwich winning a title. He was responsible for that. And the gall to call out the fans out for having to choose the lesser of two evils when we actually had been losing most weeks thanks to Ange so ultimately the fans thought “fuck it lose this one too”.

Then to go from that, to as you say, actively saying he threw the league to focus on Europe. I mean, it’s staggering. Of course, we all know he didn’t throw the league. He purely said that in hindsight to justify all the league defeats as it was the best way to absolve him of blame and to protect his reputation.

He’s an arrogant manchild who will say whatever he can, contradict himself all the time, to protect his ego and image.

Just talking back about it I realise actually how much I detested him as our manager. Thank fuck he’s gone. Will be interesting with Forest as I fully expect him to show me I was correct in my assessment in that he’s the worst manager I’ve ever seen.

If he can take us to 17th, he can definitely take Forest down.

I don’t hate him. I’d definitely buy him a pint for the europa league win but I’d want him to buy me at last three back for the 22 league defeats! 😂🍺🍺🍺

"Yep but unless we won the league or got relegated, the positions in between are largely irrelevant if you win the European cup in that season, surely?"
Crikey, they're really speedrunning the Ange experience over there, not even had his first game and some dolt is trying to argue that finishing 17th is just as good as 2nd...
