Wtf was ange thinking going there? Like i used to think he was just a regular type guy and he'd see a mile off what kind of person marinakis is and how difficult it would be to better what nuno done. But he didnt, he took the job lol.

As soon as forest start playing ange ball, they will get pumped week after week and he will be gone, looking like an idiot.
Marinopolou...match made in heaven...

It really isn't.

Woolwich were not great. They didn't need to be.

Forest were shite.

Woolwich took the lead with a worldy and Forest defended the edge of the 18 yard box, and OK in general, during the first half.

What was obvious was that Ange told his defenders to defend higher in the 2nd half.

Goons took 2 minutes of the 2nd half to play a ball in behind and add a 2nd goal that was very similar to loads of goals Spurs conceded last season.

Ange is a fucking disaster and Forest are going to hell.

Many on here, while implicitly now acknowledging Levy did the right thing re Ange and Frank, also

— think he shouldn’t have been sacked
- think he’s a great coach because he won the EL

Some of us disagree based on what Ange says, does and how his teams perform. And we want that played out again in front of his acolytes

A lot harder to show that at Forrest than at say an expected Top 6 club.

Forrest overperformed last season, playing snatch 'n grab football with Wood playing the best season of his life. That has a short shelf life at the top of the tree. Their slide was inevitable.

If Ange somehow manages to get Forrest into any level of European football for next season and go deep in a cup competition, it's a very good season for them.

A relegation scrap and a quick exit from the EL is what will be the final nail.

Forest spent in the window. And were expected by their fans and some pundits to crack on this season. So I think Ange will underperform va that. I don’t think they will be relegated tho.

They spent 1/4 billion on players this summer - The club will demand a European place for next season. However, last season forest has the fewest touches of the ball and spent the lowest time in the opposition 3rd. Smash n Grab is right, and it will be interesting to see how Ange sets the team up as the season goes on.

He couldn't have heard their fans gloating about how none of our players get in their squad. That they had replaced us as an elite club. We tried desperately to buy their captain and failed. Not sure there's the massive down grade for poor Ange to overcome he makes out plus they spent barrel loads of drug cash

Although I don't like Marinakis at all, he doesn't really need drug money. As a shipowner his personal wealth is about 5 billion USD. He is not Abramovich but he can spend a couple hundred million for his hobby (although at Olympiakos he probably makes some profit).

I think Maranakis must actually believe this, or else hiring Ange makes no sense at all.

As shotgunofmichaelbrown mentioned, one of his ships — the Noor One — was linked to a massive heroin bust in Greece. Over 2 tons of heroin were seized. Marinakis was charged with financing the shipment, though he denies involvement and was never convicted. Still, it’s a serious cloud over his name.

And it doesn’t stop there. Marinakis is deep in Greek politics and media, owning major outlets and backing political figures. He’s had public clashes with the Greek PM, with accusations of corruption, surveillance, and media manipulation flying around.

Now look at Forest. He’s pumped in £250 million+, converting loans into equity and keeping the club afloat in the Premier League. But here’s the question: where’s all this money coming from, especially with his legal and political baggage?

It’s not just about having deep pockets — it’s about how deep, and what’s buried in them.

Agree.
That's why I started by saying that I don't like Marinakis at all (and not only because he's the owner of Panathinaikos biggest rival).

I don't know who here - if anyone - has been watching Mitchell and Webb's latest sketch show, but I can't watch Ange now without thinking about the Aussie sheep drama sketch. "This is MY fuckin' club!"
