Interesting hearing him justifying the defensive switch in Europa and trying to take ownership of it. Having heard a lot of Ange speak, I've never seen him so shifty when talking about his tactics - he's usually so bullish. Felt like a very wishy-washy tale to me and think he's not telling the whole story, or even half of it. I don't think there was some full-on coup from the players as some on here seem to think, but I get a strong sense something went on and it wasn't wholly his idea. The whole "I did a deep dive on previous winners" felt like absolute bollocks to me.

That said, I've slagged him off on here a fair bit but I do enjoy listening to Ange. Really wish it had worked out.

A good manager in any sphere of business should always listen to those under his/her watch.
So, when Rom & VDV approached him, he had two choices:

1. It's my way or the highway, I know what I'm doing and we keep to the plan.
2. There may be something in what they're saying, we'll try it. "I'll leave it to you to let all the player's know."

And the result of this good management......

Unbelievable the amount of Low IQ takes there are surrounding this, it's mental.

Depends if he loses his job or not at the end of the season.

No Way Reaction GIF

Well I regret sitting though that

I liked : His comments on VAR

I didnt like : The rest of the video

Its 90+ minutes of Ange on his soapbox stroking himself off

(obviously there are a good few on here for whom that will appeal :ange-lol: )

Don't get me wrong, I think he did the right thing as it led to us winning the cup. Had we carried on with Ange-ball in Europa we would've never, ever won the thing. In that sense it was good management so fair play to him for not being too proud to listen to the players/coaches/whoever and adapting.

I just think it's funny, and very typical of Ange's self-mythologising, that he's framing the narrative in the interview that it was his masterplan all along which I don't buy for a second. I think it was borne of compromise. And also went directly against all of his purported principles that we only play one way, if he had 1 game to define his career he'd 100% attack, etc.

On a seperate note good to have it straight from the horses mouth that is was HIS choice, not the medical team's, to rush back VdV. He's always been a risk-taker with injured players and so many Ange fanboys wouldn't accept that was his fault. Good on him for admitting it at least.

I don't mind his latest interview, I just thought the first one was overkill.

He complains about doing too much press, yet actively seeks double the amount of any other manager.

I try not to care any more.

It's the self aggrandizing that I find really irritating.

I don't believe he threw the league on purpose for Europe, I don't believe he was the architect of the players taking decisions in the Europa league run, I don't believe much of anything when he is talking about himself.

I mean it can be pretty annoying from someone like Jose but at least he has the real top draw pedigree to back it up.

Bollocks..
first of all, it was an incredibly weak line up of teams for the cup.. mostly teams of peasants and farmers...except maybe bodo and Frankfurt...we played the worst Utd team ever...we managed one fluke goal from a player now gone...
I will never accept that he had anything to do with that cup win...
The players won that for themselves despite having him around at the time..
It was triumph for Spurs the team, not him and all his boasting and bragadoccio means nothing to anyone knowledgeable in the game of football...
There, I said it!....

Its a shame he didn't do that

I actually liked a hell of a lot of what he meant.
