Which is exactly where the quality of the (fit and available) squad sits the moment you take Kane out. Under ANY manager.
This is what I kept trying to tell people last season. The 5th place and the Europa League was an overachievement considering the level of the squad. Even fully fit.
This is the gaslighting that fans fall for. They keep telling us we're a Top 4 club but our squad is 8th AT BEST. When you throw in a massive injury crisis you're relegation level.
We saw that last year but instead of strengthening the quality and depth of the squad we sacked the manager and everyone went "woo hoo, we'll fly up the table".
Well, here we are. We'd cut our legs off to have 60 points. Fucking shambles.

It was 41 from the last 40 (1.025 ppg)
25 from the last 30 (0.83 ppg)
15 points from the last 20 (0.75 ppg)
4 points from the last 10 (0.4 ppg)
Then with Forest, 1 point from 5 games (0.2 ppg)
You could draw an almost immaculate line of a reduction of 0.2ppg every 10 games

He was a shit manager. He set our record for losses here, we were a complete shambles week in, week out, and he was still hopeless when he fetched up at Forest and got the sacked quickest in living memory.
The fact that Frank was just as diabolical, or that the squad's a load of dross, doesn't suddenly make him any better.
If any club genuinely reckoned he was more than an SPL manager at a side where you'd have to actively try to finish below second, he wouldn't be sat on his hands twiddling his thumbs of an evening, would he.
