Lesser in prestige but actually harder to win and we beat much better teams to do it. From a fan perspective not as big, from a manager getting credit perspective a bigger deal.

I might concede the "harder to win" point but the Scum would hand over every League CupTrophy they have for just one of of our European ones.

Also we did also make the semi-finals (and win one leg vs Liverpool) last season - despite the injury crisis. Which just adds to the ridiculous nature of this very lame "gotcha" attempt by those who try it.

Probably but I’m not arguing which is better I’m arguing from a managerial perspective which was harder to navigate.

We did. And then they utterly crushed us in the second leg when it got serious. We beat peak Chelsea and spanked a very good Woolwich team to win that league cup.

The point is: cup runs are cup runs. Ramos got some results in a cup and so did Ange. The list of managers who have managed cup results is very long.

Top managers are judged on their ability to build a consistently good team and the mark of that always has been and always will be 90% league performance. It is the bar, which is why Pochettino won nothing but will always have a massive legacy here.

No argument about the Poch legacy from me.

When Ange first got the job, I remember him saying that..."It will take 3 or 4 seasons to get the squad I want and to have them playing the way I want..."
Did the board back him? NO.
Despite this, he finished 5th in his first season and got us back into Europe.

His second season started reasonably well and by the end of November, we were 8-1-5.
Then we get the start of the injury crisis.
By the end of January, we have 11 first team players out, and Ange is playing 4 or 5 teenagers as replacements.
Why, you ask?
Because he had to!!
All the other "big 6" clubs have at least two or three, competitive and experienced players for each position and the rest of their squads contain up and coming youngsters.

The board is to blame for finishing 17th. They didn't back his vision for the future and refused to get the players he wanted.

And he still won THAT Cup.

Our best chance :levylol:

Players ran through walls for him. They lost 22 league games last season.
Players loved and listened to him. They lost 22 league games last season.
He's a winner who wants to win every game. They lost 22 league games last season.
He brings the vibes. They lost 22 league games last seaso

For the life of me, I'll never understand why any Spurs fan would try to diminish the winning of a major trophy. I couldn't care less whether we had a tougher run to win the League Cup in 2008.

I enjoyed that victory immensely because it had been nearly a decade since our previous trophy. The Europa League gave me even more joy because it was a European trophy, and it had been 17 years since the League Cup win.

We can debate the merits, or otherwise, of managers over the years. I would prefer if the discussions were civil, but in these times of incivilty, I suppose that is too much to expect.

Surely the one thing that should bring joy to all fans is the celebration, without equivocation, of a trophy win?

Christ this take is so fucking lame. Ramos won the (lesser) League Cup trophy with Jol's team not his own. Then, when he had a summer to make the side his own, got 2 points from 8 games and was sacked.

So no, he and Graham (for similar reasons) don't have the same sense of fond memories as a manager whose second last game in charge was us winning our first European trophy in 40 years. This might be hard to understand for someone as spectacularly dim as you are so here's a few videos and pictures that might help you get it:

Since then, you got what you wanted, he was sacked, and we're on the brink of relegation. I suggest you worry more about that than normal people looking back with some fondness on the comparative sunlit uplands of the Postecoglou era than the absolute shit fest you've been applauding all year.

Wow, goosebumps. Just what I needed to see now, even if this feels soooo long ago .. what a difference a year can make!

Will never forgive the cucks of our fanbase who were so keen to turn on Ange and what we were building.

Would rather have weird friendship bonds on the Internet over their shared hate of manager than see us playing DNA coded attacking football like this clip!

What could have been if not for all the injuries.

I think it should be mandatory to have any gifs of Trump behind a spoiler! Gives me the eebee jeebees every time it comes up!
Sorry mate, he is scary AF. My friend has a six year old boy who is Italian doesn't speak English, he saw Trump on TV ranting and is absolutely terrifed of him. Genuinely ran to his room upset. I've never seen such a visceral reaction without anyone giving any context to who he was watching. They make sure never to have the news on.now. But It’s made me wonder if we should all be even more concerned kids are very perceptive.

Igor now gone. Please make the one decision that makes sense. So many wrong decisions in a row have got us to this point.

Do. The. Right. Thing.

Reverse the negative karama / Juju.

Get the TEAM re-united again as it was ALWAYS meant to be.

Don't listen to the haters, don't listen to the cucks.

We all need season 3.

:ange-hmm:

Now is the perfect time for Ange to make a return. I don't care if it's only temporary. The players' morale is at rock bottom now and Ange is the one who will bring the confidence back since they look up to him.
