He bought something new. Thats for sure.

It sounded like his training methods were very different to European coaches. Always playing against opposition is not normal over here.
I’d be interested to know if his exposure to the prem means he’s adapted that side of his coaching.

Although after Ange and his Freeform football who knows what Frank was up to with the same set of players. Maybe just the lack of creative players screwed Frank but he should have recruited better.

Hopefully RDZ can do something with these players.

Sacking Frank made sacking Ange compounding another mistake as well because it mans Ange could be sacked if he wasn't performing in season 3. Yet he wasn't even given the chance!

If it was up to me, I would have given Ange this season to see if he could build upon that momentum. The biggest thing to me was despite his obvious flaws, the players were behind him.

When I say “reasonable”, I mean that it should be rightly seen as unacceptable that we finished 17th, regardless of the circumstances.

Another reason why I didn’t want him sacked was because I just didn’t trust our MENSA brain trust to make the right decision in terms of his replacement.
 
A huge difference between Ange and his 3 successors is that our players liked and respected Ange - they were prepared to go in to battle for him.

The players knew that his tactics were risky but they thrived on the chaos it created.

many of our pkey players have regressed since Ange departed.

Ange knew the faults of this squad... Would he have ever let Brennan go and not be replaced? No chance...

He was expressing the need for more experience - he would have realised we needed a much bigger squad.

Question is - why on earth were so many of our fanbase celebrating his sacking? The one man at the club who ACTUALLY understood football.

What absolute unbelievable fools they all look now.

I've noticed that the pro-Ange posters have increased in numbers the last few days. Is it because that they now realise that sacking him was a great mistake or they just volunteered to contribute towards the common cause?

No they fucking didn't. In what way was finishing 17th in the league thriving? The football was fucking boring too, it was chaotic in the sense we couldn't defend for shit, and I'm sure it was entertaining for many, but certainly not for Spurs fans ffs.

Also how tf are you drawing any conclusions on whether or not the players like and respect RDZ after a matter of a couple of weeks and one match?? There's plenty of smoke (though little solid evidence) around them not having a great deal of time for Frank, but even Tudor there's nothing but a bunch of fanfic to indicate they didn't like or respect him.

Many of our players full stop regressed under Ange!

If you're a Spurs fan who preferred it when we were a club who won trophies and stayed in the Premier League then you probably might like to click on the thread of a former manager who achieved these things.

If, instead, remembering when we used to win things and stay in the Premier league makes you angry and bitter then I'd gently suggest you CHOOSE NOT to "click" on this thread.

It really is that easy 🤷‍♂️

It's obvious, judging from the EL matches, that Ange is able to coach a team that can win mid and low table clubs.
But, that wasn't his aim. He wanted to build a team in such a way that the final product could be able to compete for the top. That's why he insisted on his ideas even with players that were underqualified (at the time, at least). He wanted to build a team character.
 
And before someone makes the witty remark that he's built a losing character based on Frank's results, i just say that if in the middle of a right turn you decide to turn left, the result won't be very pleasant.

He did alright at one aspect of the game, let's not pretend he was excelling at anything else.

Frankly, in an era where players put up G/A stats of 50+ somewhat frequently, a guy with no other responsibility at all managing to get into double digits for goals, in a side that was supposedly gung-ho, isn't all that amazing.

Regardless of that though, if BJ himself had actually been coached to improve by Ange, wouldn't we expect him to continue to excel post-Ange?

He wasn't coached to be anything special at all, he just benefitted form a very one-dimensional team set up that sacrificed a lot to gain very little.
