You loved ENIC til they ousted DanielThink this is just a microcosm of how our fans pursue the wrong targets when it comes to the blame game. I mean all this energy should be diverted to the ENIC thread surely?, come on guys.

You just don't get it do you.Well Messi and Ronaldo did it pretty routinely, Son and Kane at their peak with us were getting some pretty insane stats though not in that ballpark.
I'm not suggesting that BJ should be anywhere near those guys, just that I'm not about to fall off my chair over him managing 14 goals in all comps whilst offering less than nothing in every other respect.
And anybody seriously trying to point to him as a success story for Ange's coaching should probably double check how he has performed this season, both here and Palace.
He was the sole beneficiary of a very flawed gameplan, not a coaching victory.
Don't feel compelled to join in a conversation over whether someone improved as a player then. You just don't get it do you.
The reason BJ thrived under Ange was that he had belief and trusted him in his system.
I'm not arguing whether BJ was a good player or not, I'm saying that Ange knew how to get the best out of him.
Where to play, when to run in etc etc.
You can't deny how many goals he scored for us last season. This season he's hardly got a look in.
And now he's at Palace and has scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist.
Well holy guacamole, maybe it was the coaching that let him score all those goals for us!
We're talking about whether Ange was a good manager, not about BJ.Don't feel compelled to join in a conversation over whether someone improved as a player then.
What are you talking about he hasn't scored any goals for Palace. You just don't get it do you.

No we're not. We're talking about whether Ange was a good manager, not about BJ.
ESPN says he has 2 goals and 1 assist at Palace. What are you talking about he hasn't scored any goals for Palace.
It was a fluke season by a poor player. He's never got close to those numbers before and he won't ever again.
Football is littered with players that have done the same thing.
Ange knew the best to get out of him in a season where we were utter dogshit. Maybe if he had focused less on that he wouldn't of been sacked.
Now we're looking at whether a manager improved a player.Who the fuck cares? Who else improved? Who else under Ange’s tutelage can we look and say they’ve developed as a player?
Johnson scored or assisted 11 league goals in his final season at forest. We spent like 40 million on him. Two years later Ange got him to score or assist 14 and we are meant to view this as some sort of example of great coaching.
Did he develop as a footballer? Did he improve? Aside from scoring a few more tap ins against Southampton & co, what are we meant to be applauding here?
No they don' they say he has 2 goals this season.ESPN says he has 2 goals and 1 assist at Palace.
In his first season here, he had 5 goals and 10 assists.
2nd season 11 goals and 3 assists.
For such a poor player, Ange certainly new how to get the best out of him.
The way your initial post read was that 50 g/a was a regular occurrence. It just isn’t. And coming up with one player who got close doesn’t cement your initial argument. Just be wrong. Fuck, I’ve typed the phrase “I was wrong” so often on this forum that I have a keyboard shortcut for it.Salah got 29 goals and 18 assists last season. Three shy of the 50 then, apologies for the wild hyperbole...
That is an output worth crowing about.
I'd argue personally, that when I'm assessing if a player has progressed, the upturn needs to be not only demonstrable, but lasting. If the output dissipates the moment a player is put in a different system, or moves elsewhere, then rather than having progressed, they were just fortunate to benefit from a very specific system.
Aside from his goal output, how was his technique? How was his pressing? His tackling? His dribbling? His passing? His creativity? His crossing?
If the player "progressed", then I'd expect many, or at least some of those things, to have improved. As it stands, he had one good attribute, and a system was devised to maximise that. When he left here he was exactly the same player as when he joined.
Well however it read, I'm clarifying for you now that, compared to some actual impressive G/A statistics that you see amongst actual good players, BJ's haul last season is hardly worth crowing about. The way your initial post read was that 50 g/a was a regular occurrence. As for progression and improvement, aye BJ hasn’t done either long term. He had a good season in a collection of shite elsewhere in the side. Maybe made him standout all the more. Yes, he was crap at everything else except scoring. But he improved last season. And became shite again. Progression to regression. No idea if it was due to Ange or not, but coincidental at least.
Imagine those senseless and illogical Ange-haters and derangers keep harping on 17th last season. Now we are 18th! But I guess they will say 22 losses last season was a disgrace, even if it meant we are relegated with 21 losses. Lol.Imagine Spurs having someone - anyone - who could score 11 goals and 5 assists in the Premier League right now.
If we did we might not be getting relegated.
