Or Scott Parker?
Seriously?1 year ago today we played Bodo in the semi final at home.
We were 16 points off the relegation zone. 4 games to play.
37 points. 62 goals scored. +6 GD.
Playing the kids as our CMs in the premier league - madness.
But who wouldn’t swap our position today to be back there again!!
Even if you do get Ange back……
Or Scott Parker?

Young Boys, can see him getting stuck right in.So which Champion's League club will Sir Ange be managing next year? Surely they are all competing for his services
After throwing away CL spot. Losing 5 of the last 7 games of the season. You do know we qualified for Europe under Ange, in both of his seasons, right?
Indeed, thus everyone is different.
It's not really that difficult - there’s this idea that being a good manager means constantly adapting to your surroundings and your players but it's not a universal rule. Every manager has their own philosophy and way of doing things which is precisely why Kompany ended up at Bayern...they saw his approach and believed in his potential based on what he did at Burnley.
The original debate came from the fact that people were saying Ange should have done that and thus he's not a good coach when it clearly isn't how it works...there clearly isn’t a single blueprint for success in management.
Yeah that's fair- although I reckon Kompany's reputation as a player played a bigger role than his performance at Burnley. I wouldn't expect Bayern to appoint an unkown who stuck to similar principals with the same end result for example.
My reason for stepping in was in response to the talking point that PSG & Bayern show that a similar football to Ange's can succeed - there's more to football management than simply having a style of play that can succeed in the right circumstances
The revisionism is insane.Yeah 100%. If you want to call it bragging. Just a much less stressful time to support Spurs.
About to take a lead in a European semi final and happy we weren’t about to be relegated. Or at least there was no possible way we could be.
Why would the Bayern players take to Kompany's reputation as a player when they weren't even having Tuchel?
Top players get big money no matter what, but they also like to perform on the so called biggest stage.Competitions aren't a magnet for star players, money is the magnet.
Would bite your hand off for that about now...
Good managers develop football teams and are able to get their ideas across, regardless of style, and can adapt to circumstances beyond their control.Yeah that's fair- although I reckon Kompany's reputation as a player played a bigger role than his performance at Burnley. I wouldn't expect Bayern to appoint an unkown who stuck to similar principals with the same end result for example.

It was all his reputation as a player. Dyche achieved way more at Burnley with less and he didn't get a sniff of the Bayern job.Yeah that's fair- although I reckon Kompany's reputation as a player played a bigger role than his performance at Burnley. We wasn't throwing games, Ange got completely found out in the league.Something occurred to me about the whole, threw the Premier League to win the Europa League, on which Ange’s legacy is built…
Imagine if that was the attitude in the double season, fucked off the FA Cup to make sure we won the league - maybe it makes slightly more sense that way around, but the most important achievement in our history didn’t involve throwing games in the bin at any stage.
although I am still far from convinced we were actually throwing games, as is often suggested, more that the squad wasn’t good enough overall and tactics had been worked out.
The year is 2043 and we are still debating if Ange should have be allowed to continue for season 3. To save everyone the trouble here is the answer.Good managers develop football teams and are able to get their ideas across, regardless of style, and can adapt to circumstances beyond their control.
Ange is bad manager as he wasn't able to get his ideas across, the team regressed to point where we couldn't string passes together, got the most losses on season in our entire history, refused to adapt circumstances beyond his control.
I didn't say that they would.
Reputation/performance or whatever else that has happened before only serves to get you in the job. From that moment on it's how you go from there that matters
Top players get big money no matter what, but they also like to perform on the so called biggest stage.
Exactly hence why you thinking that Kompany's rep as a football player got the buy in from Bayern players as a manager doesn't make sense.
