So not as a manager, then? Which would be exponentially more lucrative and prestigious and is what he actually is and wants to do. You know the likes of Owen get pundit jobs, right? As for technical observer - David James got that role too, mate.

He’s stuck in these roles because nobody will hire him. Nobody of any worth anyway. He’s a manager who can’t manage anyone because his rep with a small amount of people on here is vastly inflated compared to his rep in the football world .

I wonder why.

If Xavi wanted to accept a Brighton level position tomorrow, he’d have a job. Serious interest has occurred in him, he’s just picking his next role carefully. I also don’t actually think Xavi is a particularly great cosch.

Ange got sacked by Forest after failing to win a game. He has history for accepting low tier prem jobs. They just don’t want him mate. Because his league record is bad.

I'm certain the money is good serving as a pundit, at least compared to the time investment. Watering the plants at UEFA is probably not a bad spot either. But we all know he'd be managing in football if anyone would hire him.

Why Thomas Frank gets slated for his results while Ange maintains a cult following is beyond me. There's one game different between the two of them.

The fact Ange is gonna be an ITV pundit over the summer, whereas I think I heard Frank will be appearing on the BBC's coverage speaks volumes


Those old enough to get the reference will know that Frank is Swap Shop, whereas Ange is TOTALLY Tiswas!

He’s the same as any manager that struggles at a reasonably big club that doesn’t have a stellar background. He’s going downhill. Stupidly going to Forest on that downhill slope has just accelerated his trip to the bottom.

Does it really matter though? Take the European trophy, take the parade and smile, remember the good times.

Or come on here every so often and have weirdly timed pop. Your choice.

Oh, it’s not a pop at him. He wasn’t as big as the job, although I don’t fault him for taking it. Any of us would’ve done the same. It’s only a pop at the people who think we should’ve retained him and that things would be great if we had. We got worse the entire time he was here. He is not some great coaching mind.

It seems to me he ought to be beating on the door at Celtic. He was able to win there and that’s probably his level.

Apparently he's going to be doing world cup punditry for the BBC, Postecoglou ITV.

So the two are still evenly matched.

On the manager front Frank is being linked with Fulham, and Postecoglou Besiktas. I suppose the latter has more prestige 4th last season, European football, but operate in a weaker league.

To the extent that's a job thinking through what the rules and structures of the game need to be to preserve the ecosystem and appeal to fans, he's genuinely very well suited for that job.

Arsene Wenger's been doing that for years for either FIFA and UEFA and has bizarre and silly ideas. Ange is a better ideologist of football than he is a coach.

No clubs (of any worth) want him. If they did he would be managing. Not sure how clear I can make this. He would not be working as a fucking pundit if he had good jobs on the table.

Good one mate. If I was a gooner I’d be absolutely gutted at the 5 brain cell department laughing at a league title and CL final while surviving relegation on the final day. Tit.
