I feel so unexcited about watching us tomorrow, like I've booked an appointment to chat to a salesperson about samples of carpet cuttings. It shouldn't be like this.

Strong start to the season before we got decimated by injuries. Son being hideously out of form probably hasn't helped either.

Add to the fact that the quality of the league isn't as strong as it once was.

There's always 1 or 2 (or more) of the bigger teams in flux... It's the only thing that keeps the upper end of the table remotely interesting. Even if they are soon to become part of the problem, NuCastle are helping supplement that interest currently.

Even on a good day, Leeds is one team you ain't out running.

That's one thing you can guarantee from Leeds.

I believe in the first half against them last season, Conte’s first game, they totally out ran us and were winning 1-0. Then Conte managed to get us outrunning them second half and we won 2-1?

That is the way to beat them. The way to beat anyone really. You have to work harder than them. To be fair to the lads I think they did that against Liverpool and were unlucky not to win, same again and we can do it.

How on earth do you come to that conclusion?
It's true. City apart this is a poor league.

A few years ago our best 11 under Pochettino would have more points than we have quite easily. I'm not sure more than Woolwich have because what they are doing is freaky and it's hard to believe it can be maintained.

But a few years ago, our current side/squad would not be in the top 8 at this stage.

Only Kulsevski and Bentancur would have been anywhere close to our first 11 back then. Little or no doubt.

Perisic and Hjojberg on the bench.
