Yeah but the possession stats?

Funny thing is that 2-2 against Woolwich was imo the best performance in any game under him and probably the one time i thought we had something, we were excellent. All the others have been dreadful.
Really? I looked at those results and thought we played well in all those games apart from Chelsea away which I can't really remember and West Ham away which we started really well but then went to shit.

Yes, maybe 20 minutes home to Chelsea was good. But West Ham at home was poor, thought Sunday was a non event, certainly didnt play well. We rallied a bit at home to Woolwich last season but the game was gone in 35 mins. Plus the 2 you mention which were really bad.

At what point? Another full season. People forget we made a complete 180 from how we were playing, recruitment, etc from Conte to Ange. Everyone knew that was going to take time and change beforehand. We finished 5th last year. The eye test, underlying stats, etc matter when you are making a major decision. Especially considering the coaching treadmill we have been on since Poch. “Likely to” doesn’t matter at this point. It’s a long season and we are in multiple competitions. We’ve spent some money, but outside of Maddison and Solanke they’ve pretty much all been young players. Every successful team sticks to a manager and style and goes through the growing pains. Given our inability to spend huge, I think our ability to have a cycle might take longer than most. I for one, don’t want to press reset on this and have seen enough to think Ange has as good a chance as any coach we could get to lead us to a good period.
So you're happy finishing in the bottom half?
That's where we're headed. And I reckon lower bottom half.

We finished 5th because of the first 10 games. We've been in provable decline ever since. We will not be at that level again and will continue to get worse.

And you're happy to just stick with that? And when we need to start again next season, we have to start from finishing 14th/15th ?

WH at home was the same story as the AV game at home.... Absolutely battered them, went 1-0 up, battered them some more but failed to score again to lock down the win; eventually conceded two cheap goals on the counter.... Both courtesy of Udogie brainfarts IIRC.

I thought we were decent against Villa but not much cop against West Ham. But it sums it up, we dont have the firepower up front and always give up cheap goals. Its been an issue for quite a while.

By the way forgotten all about that Swansea 1-0 and was at that and the Hull game as well! We were so dull.

The only good thing about that game was that Hull spent the whole match time wasting.
When we scored, the ball went out for a goal kick shortly after. Their keeper, the worst time wasting offender by far, was screaming at the fans to give him the ball back. They didn't. It never came back. Think someone had to go and get a new one as they didn't even have extras around the pitch then!

You spend 85 minutes taking your time to take a goal kick, kicking mud out of your boots, pulling your socks up, checking your phone for messages, asking the mrs what she's doing for dinner. Then all of a sudden you're jumping up and down in a rage because you're in a rush.
Hilarious.
I believe I went to that game and recall the shelf (I did prompt it, I am happy to say) shouting at the keeper to, “slow down”, once he started all of that rushing.

15th at Xmas and Levy will pull the trigger. I can’t see him risking a death spiral in the new year.

You really think some of our fans have the patience for a young manager? They turn on any signing of a young player from an unknown/lesser club instantly.

If we'd have hired the now Brighton manager, this place would be up in arms. The fans are a massive part of the problem, they just don't want to admit it.

I watched the Birmingham v Wrexham game last night (both undefeated at that point) and the team, style and tactics Chris Davies has put into that Brummies side in such a short while is outstanding.

They blew Wrexham away playing expansive, possession based football.

Levy would do well to keep an eye on him, as if that side continue in this form then he won't be at Birmingham next season.

Breath of fresh air and his time as first team manager is here and now.

I’ll believe the bottom half of the league over a full season when I see it. Otherwise you’re being a prisoner of the moment. We’ve had some up and down results no doubt. Totally depends on what sample size you take. We’re 4 games in! Sure if you go back to X date then that’s more games. But why not further? It’s arbitrary to pick when rough results started and choose that to show we’re bad. That was also when we had a really rough run of games. It’s a 38 game season. Also, the eye test, underlying stats, etc matter. And I think we’re on the right track overall.

I don’t think there’s anyone we could get who guarantees success. We’ve tried the other route. I think if we can’t stick by a manager through this kind of stuff we’ll never win anything. But if you just want to be mad and continue on this cycle into eternity..,then good luck? We’re not going to agree. Move on.

We tried two win now managers and didn't give them win now players.

You ask why?
He's just been dealt one of the shittest transfer windows imaginable comprising England's 5th choice striker as a belated replacement for England's 1st choice striker, the useless bum who nobody else wants on loan, and a few teenagers who may or may not make an impact in a future that never arrives.

All while slashing the wage bill to mid table levels of ambition
And he says he's happy....:levywtf:
it is an exaggeration to say it was the Shittest transfer window. We were the 5th highest net spenders £83.1 m. We bought the highest priced transfer in Solanke. Could we have done better. Yes, but some of the names mentioned as targets in my opinion were not better than what we have got and some were injury prone like Lo Celso.

Other teams have kids in their starting 11 but Mourinho & Conte did not want them but chose experienced players but Ange wanted kids. Levy did not impose kids on Conte and Ange maintains he wanted those players.

The wage bill was slashed by finally selling those not wanted and on Loan last season and players that many posters wanted gone. Was there any player sold you would have wanted to keep?

If Ange gets sacked because of poor performance then it will be his tactics and stubborn attitude that has brought his downfall and not Levy's not backing his spending plans.

inoutnet outlay
Brighton£194.7m£28.8m-£165.9m
Ipswich£106.5m£1.4m-£105.1m
Man United£180.7m£86.75m-£93.95m
West Ham£121.6m£37.7m-£83.9m
Tottenham£125.4m£42.3m-£83.1m

He should never have got the job.

a 60 year old Aussie who only ever managed in Japan and Scotland. I just don't get what the club were thinking. Ange should be sacked just for his London dervy record, we've become the mugs of the capital under Ange.

There was so little chance of him being a success. You look at the window where we signed youth prospects and you also think the club have made it every easy to swap coaches.

I'd get Iraola here tomorrow. Great job with Bournemouth.

Unfortunately with Ange going we will still be stuck with an aging Son left and BJ on the right.

You can't seriously believe Ange wanted kids that won't peak for about 7 seasons? How is that helping Ange stay in the job. He 100% wanted the likes of Neto and Eze. No way do managers prioritise signing teenagers when they are only every a few bad defeats from the sack?

He hasn't even picked them so far which says all you need to know about it.

Our London record, is on par with Labour and their immigration policy- weak, flacid and a laughing stock as well.
