Player Antonín Kinský

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Slightly concerned that RDZ came out the other day saying Vicario is our no.1 (yes, I know technically it's 'true'). I hope he doesn't actually follow through with that though in the last couple of games, if he's fit.

Kinsky is playing out of his skin at the moment. You can't drop him.

I think that was more man management than anything else. What else would he say really. Like I said earlier, if RDZ drops Kinksy for Vic it would be totally disgusting with two games to go. Not only does it unsettle the defence once again, but more importantly, Kinksy is the better keeper, in better form, and have no doubt Vic will make a gaffe or two that relegates us.

But who knows. Ultimately there is a possibility Vic is brought back in if he's viewed internally as the undisputed number 1. It would be wild on many levels though, because the guy is clearly leaving in the summer, so it's not like we have to keep him onside. He should have played his last game for us, time to move on.

Remember when Lange and Vinnai wanted to loan him to West ham of all teams?
Like seriously WTF are these cunts running the club thinking, this guy is a gem!!! The difference it makes in our play by having a Goalie who can actually pick out a pass, and he can make the saves as well, and we wanted to give him to West ham on loan.........
Those cunts have to be sacked in the summer. They absolutely should have been sacked already. They are fantasists

Patience young padawan.

Their termination will happen.

Their destiny will be written once the club's is sealed.

I agree RDZ is being a politician and just looking to divert anything that may create negative whispers that might affect our run in. He very much wants only positivity around the club.

No way he brings the flapper back in when clearly the keeper is so fundamental to how his teams move the ball and play out from the back.

That and half the fanbase would be on cardiac support wards with Vic in goal!

Vic has lost the crowd. You would be able to hear the nerves against Everton if he's brought back in.

It's one thing if Kinsky was the same but he's been superb and deserves the spot on merit.

We ask players to step up and take their chances when they get it. What message are we sending if we replace Toni now?

It can't happen and I don't think it will.

Personally I wouldn't even put Vic on the bench.

100%

TBH on his showing so far I hope he’s our number 1 next season irrespective of league and we bring in an experienced old hand as number 2.

Would be very happy to do that.
And clearly Kinsky is much better than I thought he was. So I was wrong and pleased to be
And yes there is always confirmation bias.
But- hype is hype. Did he actually touch the ball or did it hit the post. And then hit his hand?
If you're gonna make claims like this at least go back and watch the highlights. It's abundantly clear he makes the save and it didn't come off the post. You're just looking for excuses to not give him credit where it's due.

He's still a young keeper and could well make a mistake or have a drop-off in form in the coming games or next year, but let's at least appreciate how good he's been over this recent run. You've tried to make excuses for every top class save he's made (near post...anyone could've saved it...off the post...blah blah) just because you'd rather be right than admit a player is actually doing really well. He's in the running for player of week across the entire league, so it's pretty obvious he's not just making routine saves.

I genuinely think if we'd had Vic over this run under De Zerbi we'd likely be relegated by now. The difference is night and day on current form.

same guy was tearing ligaments to say Tel had a good game.

Some people aren't worth reasoning

I have watched it and it's not abundantly clear to me.
Both saves are if anything slight touches.
You are right it may be a confirmation bias from me. But it's also the other way round.

He got praised to high heaven against Villa
When he barely made a save and arguably made an error.

He has recovered well. I still have my doubts because - the save error ratio is still not good from him.

Vic has had games when he made 5 clear good saves. It's not Kinsky fault that luckily for us he has not had to face a lot of shots.

I agree Kinsky should play even if Vicario is fit.
Honestly would be delighted if he proves me and others wrong.
Need more evidence. We have been here before with players massively being over hyped

We face less shots, because his distribution is first class and doesn’t go straight to the opposition or into touch like it did with Vic putting us under constant pressure.

Kinsky changes the whole dynamic.

I half expect, and hope, he'll be Lloris'd.

Left out for the rest of the season and blamed as "injury"

I agree we need a bigger sample size to truly judge him. This could just be a hot streak - who knows. But you need your eyes tested if you can't see from the various replays that the first save didn't come off the post, and he's barely put a foot wrong over this recent spell.

Both saves are 'slight touches'? Yeah, slight touches that prevented certain goals. That's what good goalkeepers do...

Vicario's one standout skill is saving those big clear-cut chances and he's had a few games this season where he was absolutely brilliant, but at pretty much every other part of his game he's been a disaster this year. Distribution, long shots, crosses, commanding his box - he's been awful.

At the very least, Kinsky improves us in all those other areas, and over this short spell his shot-stopping has been fantastic too. Maybe he turns back into a pumpkin, but you're so obviously just looking for any excuse to doubt him atm.

I was thinking this. It could all be a face-saving thing. He talks up Vic to the journos and puts on a good front when behind the scenes it's basically been decided Vic is off in the summer and he was never coming back once Kinsky got going. Might just counting down the days to leave regardless of whether he's fit or not.

Also good for valuation to say "he's our first choice keeper" than to say "we're glad he got injured because he's been a liability. Oh, can we have £20m for him please?"
