Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yes I can and I just have. Both managers appear to have their daft fanatical followers. I am a hater according to you cos I questioned whether he should have played a different team in the Burnley game despite them throwing up different challenges to City. You are just blind to the possibility that Conte is human and doesn’t get everything right- which makes your analysis in any given situation pointless. Have a great day
Yeah you can compare whoever you wants, but that doesn't mean they have any similarity. You can compare Rodgers and Guardiola as well, but they share nothing.

You may question his team selection or whatever he may do, and can do whatever you like actually, but that doesn't mean you are right.
Doesn't mean i'm right as well defending his selection.
But you completely ignore all other points, that he gave pretty much everyone a chance.
And again no matter what squad he pick, if we lose you can still come and complain that we lost because of poor team selection.
And btw if he was to pick a different team selection in Burnley match compare to City, and we still lost or draw it, people would have eat him alive, and ask why he didn't play the same squad that beat the best team for the last 5 year or so in PL. And then people would have a case for it.

I don't see a team poor selection, he never does that in his career. He may have favorite players and so, but he doesn't care about names, but about performance, both on the pitch and on the training ground. For him it's super important to do everything on the training ground, and work your *** off and have the righty mindset.

Does he play the same squad week after week, Hell NO! He changed the squad and try different approach, and even system and strategies, as well as players, but when you have 90% of the player bang average, you can do so much.

You can lie to yourself that we have great squad, it's on you, but don't start swearing at people when don't agree with you.

Have a nice day too, and enjoy the victory.

Look as soon as I find out that you are a Conte disciple I switch off cos your opinion isn’t worth anything because you lose all objectivity so I haven’t read your post. Now run along and do something useful- I mean that Conte shrine ain’t gonna build itself is it ?!

:contelol:

Conte disciple hahahahha. Good try when someone beat you to it with goddamn arguments.
Anyway the discussion was over long time ago, when you turned it on personal insult.
Gratz you are the first user that goes on my ignore list.

But just to clarify to you and to anyone. Yeah i like Conte and i was watching him for quite some time, cause i see the potential in him. He is a World Class coach, and definitely know what he is doing. Unlike some other managers, he is able to build a team from scratches and to turn things around. And yeah he ain't magician, but he also never operate with the money Mourinho and Pep for example have, and he still get the job done.
And that except for Poch, which was a World Class for us, we haven't got a real World Class coach. You can make a case for Mourinho, but he was long time finished.
And all that being said i'm still Tottenham fan, but i got to be a completely blind to find even 1 complain against manager like Conte currently with the situation around our team.

You aren’t a Tottenham fan. You are only here because of Conte. And thanks for making me the first person on your ignore list- it means a lot!

"Among the lucky ones, I am particularly: I met Antonio Conte.
I had to deal with many coaches and
he is the one who surprised me the most.
A speech was enough for him, with many words
simple, to conquer me and all of Juventus, the planet on which we landed together.
The first day of retreat, in the mountains, in Bardonecchia, he summoned the team to the gym and introduced himself.
He already had the poison on him.
He moved well at high altitudes, because vipers are
made like this.
"In this team, dear guys, we come from two consecutive seventh places in the league. Crazy stuff.
Chilling. I'm not here for that, it's time to stop sucking. "

After a few minutes the secrets to be discovered were reduced to zero. One thing in particular was very clear: he had a devil for a hair, and if the hair was
fake, the devil no, it was very true, of a
non-reproducible material.
"In the last few seasons everyone has done badly here, so we have to invent everything to recover, to go back to being Juve.
Reversing the course is not a kind request, it is an order, a moral obligation. You have to perform a
one step, which is relatively simple: follow me. "

The first impression was the right one: when he speaks, concepts attack you, enter, often with
violence. They sneak inside you, break down the door. Fuck, even today Conte said something sensible: how many times have I repeated it.
"And be careful, because I'm not finished yet. Make it clear that we must return to the levels that compete with us, those that are written in the history of
this club. Not finishing in the top three would be a crime. "
Obviously we won the Scudetto on the first attempt, a success all by him. Damn him, beyond all expectations.
It could not have ended differently, having as an example, day after day, that possessed with the branded Juventus.
If Arrigo Sacchi was a genius,
so what is he? I was expecting someone good, but not that good. "

[Andrea Pirlo]

I didn’t really like the way he spoke after Wednesday’s game at Burnley, but it shows he cares. I really hope he doesn’t spit his dummy and leave; I’d really like to see what he can do with a full pre-season and hopefully 3 or perhaps 4 incoming that suit his plans.

He needs to belt up. It’s every week , interview , game some quote, mis-understanding, back tracking blah blah blah. His paid £17M/yr no small amount fucking get on with coaching the team to defend properly, not lose games and bang a few in at the other end. Simple brief😀
The constant comments isn’t helping anyone. Just bloody show some steel and get the players pumped up regardless of their ability and who knows where we could end up this season. No more pussy fests like against the chavs 3 times. Thought he was hard?

I do think that the language barrier is making it worse, but I completely agree. Belt up and get the fuck on with it. He's not shifting coal for a living, crack on.

Interesting point raised by Ally Gold today

When Conte has had a full week between games, he hasn't lost and has only drawn one of them.

So there is absolutely a corellation.
All of our losses without exception, have come after a short gap between fixtures.
And we are unbeaten when there is 5+ days between fixtures.
We do seem able to win games when the gap is less than 5 days but the win ratio is much lower.

Not entirely suprising

We have an extremely weak squad in terms of depth

Throughout his career he's struggled with a busier game schedule - has often been knocked out of europe early

I had this thought myself - good to see it laid out in stats. I love Antonio, But would caution people to draw their conclusions until after he's had a full pe-season and more squad depth.

Didn’t we just beat Leeds after just days training and lunchtime KO on Saturday. There are stats and there are stats.

So what is the problem?
Is it fitness? is the team that is good enough to beat City on the Saturday not fit enough to play again on the Wednesday?
Or is it because the players are unable to learn the game plan in under 5 days to play a totally different team and style?
I’d suggest that, where Conte hasn’t had a pre season and he’s inherited several players not suited to his tactics, instilling an identity and style to how we play isn’t simple so we’re in a situation where we need to adapt game by game. Gives him a week and it’s fine, but in a few days with an on form opponent coming to send trickier.

That said, if we look at just the league, which means no rotation etc, it’s still 4-4 between wins and losses after limited training time, which matt1882 did caveat at the end of his post. And 3 of those 4 came in what was by far the worst 2 weeks Conte has had, with the other being at Stanford Bridge, so I think the general sample size of this stat and volatility of the playing field is too small.
