What I actually said is that we're not going to successfully turn the ship around by having a soft-arse attitude towards player and managers; worrying about their post-Spurs happiness.

You tell me; how does letting go of Conte through some misguided sense of faux-mercy help Spurs?

I’m not saying per se he is the answer but contes answer is basically crap WBs. Why not play a 4 at the back with royal what he was intended for which is as a RB. Play kulu in the ericksen midfield play maker and have Lucas and Son either side of kane. We’d have 3 in midfield and 2 pacey forwards. Since conte has put kulu as attacking wide player we only have pace if son.
 
If only conte had some balls and actually tried to win games v lower half teams rather than generally make them all look like citeh. All 3 teams we recently played with 2 at home and not scoring only 2 goals:

AV 4 - 0 Soton
Bur 0 - 4 chavs
Wolves 0 - 2 CP
Note I think wolves have lost all their games since easily beating us.

Obv we lost to boro without laying a glove on them!

His press conf yday his going on about 20 years of whatever. Wtf is he going on about? His job is in the here and now, to try and win games against teams which are generally lower than us in the league. He never talks about his own decisions and tactics saying that he may be got it wrong. Never have I heard him coke out and say he got it wrong. Even klopp admits if his got it wrong and takes responsibility. Conte never does and just keeps in bleeping about mentality and our past transfer history blah blah blah. His fuckin paid a fortune to sort it out. He should just get on with it!

Royal is shit as a FB as well.

Sure can try that but zero reason to think that it will be any better and that is my issue with big complaints about Conte. The options are so poor that I find it hard to really fault him for not going with those.
 
Conte is Conte. It probably won't end well but the parts in the middle will be entertaining. And I believe whenever he does leave he will have had a positive impact on the team culture and made some of the players significantly better than they would have been otherwise. I don't pay much attention to what he says because it is very hard to know what he believes and what he says for effect. He'll be here until he leaves, that's about all I'm sure of.

He's playing with the hand he was dealt. We can't break stubborn teams down.
There's a reason we got many, many chances against Liverpool, City and Leeds, they don't defend in numbers.
 
I like Conte and I think with backing he does well, but I do think that even if the squad isn’t where we’d like it, he does have the players available to play more proactive football against all the sides who have beaten us in the past 4 defeats.

No question in my mind that at the very worst we should be heading into tomorrows match with 4 more points on board, and that’s being massively generous.
 
If you don’t have the guile to break shit teams down (we don’t), you have to press high, force the opposition into mistakes and win the ball back in dangerous areas.

Conte is a fantastic manager, but he is getting 3 things wrong right now:-

1) He has us too deep when the opposition have the ball. We exert no pressure on the other team until they enter our half.

2) He prefers 2 CMs right now, when we don’t have a pair good enough to play that way. 352 feel so logical but Conte doesn’t seem to agree.

3) Small one, but it would be nice to see him try either Lucas or Bergy at RWB bearing in mind the limited options we have there.

He needs to sort these out (first 2 in particular).

100% but we have 13 games to go with those players so he needs to adapt and not pick utter shite like Royal at WB, Winks, Sanchez, PEH etc and expect to scrape a draw. These are championship players, they will have the odd 7/10 but generally cost us - won’t control the game and will make mistakes. Absolutely toxic and give us a handicap.

Adapt and find alternative solutions, nothing to lose

So do you think managers whove won leagues and European cups have not thought of that??? Changing the formation won't work because what we are missing is a certain type of player. We thought that would be Ndombele and Glc but they were a huge mistake(thanks levy) !!!! removing them still leaves us without the Eriksen type player we really need and no formation will change that. When skipp is back we will stop shipping goals and that will put pressure on teams who sit in, to come out play more which suits son and kane. Kulu could be great but the truth is, he is another who would thrive on that Eriksen type player. The formation we play unfortunately is the best one for the squad we have.....

Is it? We played 3 vs Liverpool and did well. Agree re Skipp and the poor purchases

He's kind of stuffed though. Because unless he used Moura as RWB and teaches him when and how to defend, we have no one to play on the right. Until Skipp and Bentancur are fully fit, we're going to have to suffer 1 or both of the Hoinks axis. Until we get creative mids, we're going to have to rely solely on the front line to create and score our goals. Until we sign 1 or 2 top CB's, we're going to have you suffer any of Dier, Davies or Sanchez. And tbh, I'm not even convinced by Romero yet.
I think Conte has fully underestimated how bad our squad is. Probably because Spurs pushed his Chelsea so hard.
