I think he was quite honest after the game, that the team needs to be braver on the ball and play with more personality. We clearly have a very solid defensive structure because even when the opponent is dominating possession they hardly ever reach Hugo.

The priority for us has to be improve our play in the centre of the pitch. Too many times our CBs and CMs dawdle or play lazy passes sideways/backwards rather than being bold. Dier, Hojbjerg and Bentancur have to be bolder. The structure is solid enough for them to take some risks and play.

I agree. We give the ball away enough anyway, just try some more risks but just far enough away from our goal.

Bissouma will make a difference. He's great at receiving it under pressure, turning and wriggling out of the press. That will encourage the defence to play it centrally. That and Romero coming back in for Sanchez to make those passes.

Id like to see Lenglet get a game at some point, see if he improves our playing out from the back.

I agree with this ,but we don't have players that see a pass, watch them they have to look look and look again before they play an attacking pass, its now only Kane that see's that attacking pass
with this Conte 3-4-3 formation its going to have to come from the WB's Perisic can see a cross but not that early pass,
playing this Conte defensive style maens the out ball needs to be pinpoint, look at how many clearances went right to a forest player

Still don't think Conte has worked out how to use the 5 sub rule, 5 subs really should change the way football is played
I did hope that they had been using the 5 subs in training getting used to bringing on 2/3 subs at 60 mins etc, playing practice matches against Champ/Div 1 teams to get used to 5 subs

Why would you want to change the way we are playing? We haven’t lost for ages. Plus his subs are actually having an effect on the games. Richarlison coming on has dramatically altered the results in two of the games.

Hurricane Conte:
'Passion and desire Tottenham now has my spirit"

"If you want to have ambitions you have to be organised, top, have quality"

Antonio Conte is in A good mood. "This is Antony, United's new signing," he says, patting Tottenham's press officer Anthony Marshall on the shoulder as he accompanies him for his conference ahead of tomorrow's match against West Ham. Conte's smile is that of the whole Spurs environment: the victory in Nottingham signed by Harry Kane means the best start in the Premier League since 2009. The 10 points in four games, the same as Guardiola's Manchester City and less only than Woolwich, are confirmation that Tottenham are on the right track. Even if there are important tests coming up.
Start Tottenham is not perfect, and Conte knows that. It still has room for improvement, especially in its approach to matches, as shown by the three first halves suffered against Chelsea, Wolverhampton and Forest. Kane's wonders turned early struggles into seven points, to which must be added the three won on debut against Southampton (where Spurs had gone down anyway). "I think we did well to overcome the difficult first half, then in the second half we improved a lot mentally, overcoming the pressure and insecurity that Forest caused us," the coach told Nottingham. Kane's four goals in four matches are the obvious secret of this sprint start for Tottenham: the 29-year-old English striker, besides rewriting records, is showing that he is in the best condition of his career, regenerated by the Conte cure and motivated by a technical project that convinces him, after the doubts he had a year ago. "We are talking about a player who is fundamental for us, it is clear that we all want him to stay here for a long time," Conte said of Kane, with whom the club have begun negotiations for the renewal of his contract, which expires in 2024.
Testa It is not only because of the striker's goals, however, that Tottenham are flying: it is clear how much the Conte cure has changed the team, especially on a mental level. "I have tried to transfer my passion, my desire to win and to fight to achieve it to the players,' said Conte. 'I have been told that Tottenham lacked this spirit in the past, but I think that if you want to have ambitions like we want to have, you have to be organised, have quality, be at the top tactically and physically and also have the right spirit. That is why the coach often repeats how the nine months of work with the group are the foundation for building his winning project. Conte has changed everything," said Son, who has yet to score in the Premier League but who, like Kane, has extreme trust in the coach. "The team is more stable with him, he puts more passion into it. And he gives us a lot of commitment. It is not a coincidence that Conte in these first four games, played one per week, has insisted on last year's group, with the sole exception of Ivan Perisic, a starter in Nottingham for the second consecutive game, facilitated in learning Conte's method by his common past at Inter. Even Richarlison, taken from Everton for 70 million, never started as a starter.
Commitments Tottenham's stability is about to be turned upside down: from tomorrow against West Ham to 17 September against Leicester, Spurs will play six games, with the first two Champions League matches in between and a visit to City on 10 September. 'So far I have chosen to rely on those who were already there because they know best how I work and I trust them,' explained Conte. 'We have had four very good results, but it is clear that there are changes to be made. We have a game every three days, the players must be intelligent and understand that they need to rest. We are certainly more complete than last season'.
Gap The depth of the group is also one of the reasons why Conte smiles, certain that the club in the last days of the market will respect his mantra that if someone leaves, someone must arrive. His Tottenham want to move forward at a slower pace, slowly closing the gap that separates them from the best the Premier League has to offer. In deed, however, Conte's dreamy spirit, that 'I would like to win, even if I have to be realistic', repeated in pre-season, has infected the team. And that is the first step towards doing something special, like these 10 points.

Again, We'll see.

He'll rest Kane for the League Cup game against Forest, I'm sure.
Yes, for cup games Richarlison / Lucas should start and rest Kane/Son.

We don' t have that creative midfielder since Eriksen left. Alot of combative, hard working midfield we have but lacks that creativity going forward. Our wingback aside from Perisic have also trouble creating chances for our forwards. Hopefully Spence can live up to his full potential in the coming months.

We should rotate well before the league cup, not with Moura tho. Based on what he’s said there I reckon Sess, Bissouma and Richy start tonight (for Persic, Benta and Son), with Kane, Royal and Kulu rested at the weekend, poss Hoj too (Son, Doc, Lucas)

Hmm.. I know we are doing really-really well in terms of results.
I mean this has been case throughout 2022.

But I have a small worry lingering in the back of my head. And I'd like to share it now when times and results are good. I feel that purposefully giving control of the midfield away might have a plan that opposite managers will bite through at some point. And will find an antidote. I am not fully sure we have many alternative ideas.

I really hope that Conte is considering this, but I hope there will be an option to play with 3 CMs as well, as it would give us A LOT more flexibility and in some instances also more control. I know that Forest and Wolves did not have high quality chances against us (mostly) but hey, I still remember ManU game from last season. When they could turn to some certain Ronaldo... and with our approach combined with his finishing meant disaster to us. I am afraid it could happen again. And more than once.

What I mean is - if we would use two more attacking fullbacks, so pair of Perisic and Spence for example... and instruct them to be active and aggressive going forward. I could see us playing for example -

-----Son----Kane----
-------Kulusevski---
Perisic-------Spence
--Bissouma-Benta--
Davies-Dier-Romero
--------Lloris--------

With Bissouma and Benta (or Skipp instead of him) could at times almost drop back between the CBs and form a strong foundation in the middle.

Or alternative to that if we want to be more conservative, then subsitute Kulusevski for PEH as most advanced CM. That would mean extra cover. I have a feeling that in some situations CM trio of Bissouma-Skipp-PEH can be used and it would give us incredible steel in the center of the field.

I trust Conte and I hope whatever he chooses (even if he choses to start all 38 games in EPL in same lineup and tactical approach) but I am just thinking about game dynamics and can't help to feel that starting 3 CMs at times could really benefit us.

We had 56% possession against Man United?

Yep, it’s absolutely crazy what he’s got these players producing. Just compare it to peck Poch and it’s shitting all over the xg numbers. Quite mad that there’s people moaning about our performances.
People want us to dominate matches the way Poch's team did in 16-17. Don't think it is possible personally with Kane and Son the age they are and the technical level of some of our players.
