Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We're fourth on goal difference if United win their game in hand. People need to stop acting like our current table position says much when it is that precarious. The slightest shift could see us 6th or even 7th, would a single bad game have completely changed the picture? No.

That's not me saying we don't deserve to be there or whatever btw, it's just the transition from 'we're third' to 'we're fourth' is very telling. At this stage the table isn't telling us very much at all because it's all so close together.

Chelsea win a game in hand and they're 2 points off us. Potter's had a crap start and the previous manager was sacked - are they having a good season? United win their game in hand and we're ahead on GD - are they all that either?

Performances, performances, performances..
If united win their game in hand we are still 4th, as they aren’t making up 9 goals. We’re 4th, so as it stands things are ok.

As I’ve said, the game today against Leeds is more important than it should have been. And after it some questions might start to be asked.

We’ve been unlucky with injuries to three of our most influential players. That happens to most teams and there’s going to be an issue. Look at pool now mane has left.

it’s clear to see players are running on fumes, there’s even a player welfare piece on the bbc, specifically calling out son (see link below). The pre season to Korea was stupid and the WC is a complete joke. Two things that are beyond Conte’s control. As the saying goes, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. I don’t want another manager, and another couple of wasted seasons. Good or bad I want us to give this guy another year. Few CV‘s are better, if we get rid of him, then what? It’s not even worth thinking about.

Conte's CV is good, but so was Jose's
going into the end of last season we were winning games playing "Conte ball" (not good watch but winnning)
this season we lost Kulu to injury and that has been a big blow (shows how much he must have been doing last season), Son not playing well, Dier playing poorly since his england call up, Richy injury, Romero playing when he wants to play, I don't think we can blame Conte for that
But we can question him on things like Skipp playing as an AM (yes try once, but if you have to pull him off at half time Why do it a second time ?)
why keep playing Royal when we all see on a match day as an attacking player he just can't do it ( can't he just try Spence as a 20 mins sub)
why has it taken so long to switch to 3 in midfield when we are always under pressure in first half of most matches
why are we so poor in first half ? there has to be a reason, yes under Poch we were slow starts but never did it take the first half before we got going

1) skipp is good as AM because he knows how to attack the space without ball
2) because of his defensive phase (also lacking in his last matches TBH)
3) because with the 343 he was obtaining very good results
4) our most important players are tired or injured and the others can't fill the gap

You don't seem to have the gist of my question.....

Son, Vert & Dele turned to shit cos the owners are up to something?
My view is that certain players lost form when Son, Kane and Dele were given disproportionate deals to the likes of Toby, Eriksen, Rose and Jan. Walker was also sold to Manchester City around this time. It's all about the way the current owners run the club. It always has been.

Levy's favourite game was to trap players on long term deals and sell them on to clubs with huge resources if they reached a higher level during the course of their contract. Levy always prefers to sell a top player rather than pay the top salaries.

Once the wages at Spurs were re-distributed disproportionately to a chosen few the harmony within the group was compromised. Rose threw his toys out; Eriksen and Toby ran down their contracts. Something went wrong with Wanyama too. Levy would rather have sold them. I think Poch was complicit in this for a while too for what it is worth. He got an improved deal to sweeten it for him. That is how I see it.

I'd much rather see us move on the players who have continuously failed our previous 5 managers than rid a guy who's won everywhere he's been when allowed to get players he wants.

Both Son and Kane are clearly dampened by Conte-ball! Kane at least still score goals, but he´s not the same Harry
At the moment he has to do everything, drop deep to create and get on the end to finish.

As soon as we had a creator to help out he looked his old self ... Deki set him up he finished the job. When you have wingbacks who play crosses that could literally go anywhere what is he supposed to do?

There's nothing wrong with Conte FFS, we need upgrades on the likes of Dier, Davies, Sessegnon, Emerson etc etc.

If he wants to stay here, we should sign him up and back him. More Bentancur and Kulusevski calibre signings and he will have us playing how he really wants, a proper team.
Worth repeating. Until we get rid of the jobbers across the backline, we aren't going to do anything no matter how many times we change manager. But Conte is proven, with good players he delivers.

I'm just relieved we got that win before the break and will be sitting in the top four.

I'm not delighted with what I've seen at times this season, but let's see if the intensity goes up a level after the World Cup. That combined with (hopefully) more luck with injuries and (hopefully) one or two buys in January gives me reason for optimism.

Plus at least we've got four very tough away games out the way in Spammers, Woolwich, United and Chavs.

We were 9th this time last year, routinely not even managing a shot on target all game under both nuno and Jose.
Most spurs fans saying it was the worse squad of players ever . Struggling with European conference teams .

We now in last 16 of champions League and top 4
The football isn't good but seriously the turn around in 12 months is huge
