Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Lots of people talking about 352.

I can’t say I watched lots of Inter but his Chelsea didn’t play 352….it was 343 (or 523 if that’s how you want to categorise it).

Matic and Kante in CM, behind Hazard, Willian and Costa.

I’d expect a similar setup here, which probably means curtains for GLC and Ndombele as they can’t play in a MF 2.
Chelsea changed form 3-5-2 to 3-4-3 after 1.5 years of Conte I think. Also his Inter played 3-5-2.

3-5-2 suits us a lot better than 3-4-3. Why would he go for the latter?

But this may actually be good for the long term too.
As great as Potter is, he's nowhere near as prominent as Conte, especially for players outside the PL.
In this Jan and summer transfer window, there are a couple of players whose contract is about to run out such as Kessie & Vlahovic. They will get many offers from a range of clubs, so manager pull is important.

Then if Potter/ Ten Hag takes over in 2024, it's probably better to be with a squad that has Kessie & Vlahovic in rather than inferior alternatives.
Agree, the pull of Conte and Paratici is a big plus.

Put it this way there is no excuse.

We could say Poch at the end was tired and not backed properly

We can say Mourinho was totally past it

We can say Nuno is miles out of his league

Conte is not any of those. If the club don’t improve we have a deep issue with the club that even he cannot solve all relating to a Mr Daniel Levy.

I think he might actually knock Dele Alli out by the end of this week.

I want him to be ruthless. Doesn't matter who you are as a player, if you're not doing the business Conte should (and I believe will) drop the fucker.

We need a bastard in charge now - no fucking about.

Contract till 2023 shows this is going to be a short term fix. No way would Conte come unless significant spending has been promised in Jan & summer transfer windows of 2022.

Following on from Sir Archibald Crooks Sir Archibald Crooks * Guido 🇺🇦 Guido 🇺🇦 's point earlier, I want us to not just get top players in Jan, but they should be younger than 25, so when a long term project manager takes over in 2023 (ie Potter), we have have something to build on.

I don't see either Levy or Paratici sanctioning that though.
Let's hope not but it is the problem of taking a short term view, Conte is only interested in signing players for his term which will be most likely be 2yrs. It's just a signpost of potential concern, I think his previous Clubs didn't go up in smoke once he left.

Forgot to also add that I don't think he will heel the angst surrounding the club, for some they might get their ego stroked as they were expecting from Jose but Conte isn't here to as a fix to the many issues within the Club right now (another reason why I would prefer the other managers I mentioned in my post.
