Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That entire side played the majority of the game on Thursday and worked and fought harder and played with more intensity than we've seen all season away against a side who were right up for it, mostly hadn't played since last week and had scored 10 goals in their last 4 home games.

For all the wailing about shots on target, we still had some decent chances, hit the post and looked solid enough at the back. Plenty of teams wouldn't get a result against that kind of Everton performance at Goodison IMO.

why is mason part of his team? conte surely wouldn't of asked for him so surely thats levy asking for him to be part of it...not good ! let the man do what he needs to do without being a fucking hinderance.

If anybody is going to teach Mason how to be ruthless in regards to who you pick it's Conte and his brother.

:kanehand:

On the other hand Daniel has a company man on the inside. Although going off what he comes across as so far, I can imagine Tony using Ryan to send a message rather than the other way round.

I'm still in the, "needs to see more" camp as it relates to Conte. I'm not sure if we've seen anything different or better over the last two games.

Few issues I've had with Conte thus far:

-This 3-4-2-1 formation isn't going to work. Kane can't be the solo man up front. If we're going to start Kane, we need another CF playing alongside him
-He needs to recognize that Son shouldn't be playing so deep. He needs to be playing further forward, and more centrally
-As much as I like Skipp and PEH, I don't think playing them at the same time is the way to go. They lack the creativity/passing ability that we need
-Our two most creativity MFs, Ndombele and GLC need to get more than 30 combined mins of playing time, especially when we are struggling for goals
-Two games where Kane looked physically off it - both games he hasn't subbed him off
-He's started Dier back to back games... why?

What I like thus far:

-Substitutions - he doesn't just do the like for like replacements. Instead, he brings on different types of players that offer something different
-His energy on the sidelines. Love managers that coach from the sidelines giving guidance
-No Dele - great to see

Not sure if it’s a deliberate part of Conte’s tactics, but I noticed Romero and Davies stride forward to attack, even without the ball, at certain times during yesterday’s match. Perhaps a part of what Conte sees a 3-at-the-back can do.

I actually think Trippier and Walker would've suited this system immensely...
Walker's speed (obviously) but also, Trippiers' first time crossing was, at one point in his early Spurs career one of the best I have seen from a full-back... let alone a Wing-back who was allowed/encouraged to get forward!

Best signing we could have made. It will take a few months, but we are going to be seeing some of our players improve markedly while others who can’t hack it get sold. Most of all we will have a identity/pattern to our play and be less reliant on individual brilliance.

This is not an up and coming manager or a past it manager or in the case of Nuno someone out of their depth, this is top 5 in the World guy.
