How many players do we realistically need to turn this around? And can it even realistically be done in 2-3 windows let alone a January window?

For me we have maybe 8-9 players of the required quality to get back challenging for top 4.

And we need what a squad of 22-25?

Not sure Conte is going to be around long enough to see us to a trophy, he might if we are very lucky at least steer the ship in the right direction before he leaves.

We've also got to somehow get rid of 70% of the squad

I don't even think it can be done.
 
I think he fecked up big style tonight. He's only been here 5 minutes and he should have not made so many changes. He seems to be in too much of a hurry.

If we sign 2 or 3 top class players, it can elevate everyone else.

We need a quality centre-half, a quality central midfielder and a quality right-wing back, to start with. Then get an improvement from Kane and Son, all of a sudden we'd have the spine of a decent side.

I'm not expecting miracles in January in the transfer market, but the summer is shit or bust.

And also tbf...the whole 'top 4 player' thing started cos ArcspacE ArcspacE got touchy when I put a disagree on his post. I put the disagree cos I think we got a chance of top 4 rather than about the players he mentioned.

Cos it's him tho...and he cries about disagrees despite how he used to love giving them out...I carried on with the convo the way he took it just cos I like engaging with him :)

I'm not into hating on our players but it's clear to everyone some need to go. Hope Conte improves most but tonight shows the task he has ahead.
