This is a great comment and perspective, thank you for thisOffering another Neutral's perspective because I am thoroughly annoyed by the sheer patronising tone of the Barca lad.
I like Conte and I think he is one of the top 5 managers in the world right now. He will give every player a chance like Klopp did when he joined us and there'll be more than a few nights like this. I remember when Newcastle thumped us in one of Klopp's early games. Players will look tired and run out of gas late game because they havent had a tough pre season.
The current tottenham team is probably nearly as bad as the Liverpool team that he took over with a couple bright spots. This will take more than a couple seasons to improve because you cannot replace 7 starting XI players in one window.
There are a few more things that are positive for Spurs in that now they have a DoF so they are unlikely to buy players that Conte doesnt want. Edwards was promoted to DoF and transfer camaraderie improved significantly there.
The biggest challenge will be dependant on Paratici's ability to get the quality Conte expects within the budget constraints and with Conte being able to dictate the players that need to go out. It is far too important to clear out poor influences early in the regime and we had a lot of deadwood gone in the first summer including Allen, Benteke, Toure, Skrtel and Balotelli. Except Benteke, the rest sold for nothing. Levy MUST be prepared to take that hit because otherwise they cannot move on and that is not something a manager will compromise on. We couldnt sell Sakho but he was removed from the squad for his ill discipline and poor training. Conte will probably want Alli gone if he truly is a lazy trainer.
More than anything, the fans will need to be patient because this will be a long process and given the league level is much higher than 2015, it'll take time and there'll be runs of bad results/performances where he'll need backing. Managers like Conte that have this genuine enthusiasm and coaching nous for the sport are very rare and I hope he gets the support he deserves. I like Tottenham as a team and opponent and I'd have them getting some success over any of the other so-called big 6 rivals for us but remembering how it was for us when it began, I can only say that patience will be key in everything and the moment that runs out in any one facet, the thing will collapse.

Antonio Conte threatens to wield axe on Tottenham flops after Levy backing
Tottenham suffered a humiliating Europa Conference League defeat to NS Mura on Thursday and with 18 signings in five windows, Antonio Conte is ready to have another shake-up in Januarywww.mirror.co.uk
Speaking ahead of Sunday's trip to Burnley, Conte said: “We want to grow and compete with other great English clubs. But today there is a gap between the investments made by the owners and the sporting results. We have to fill it.
“We need players with the right mentality and with the quality, players that deserve to play for Tottenham and aspire to be competitive, to fight for this shirt, to win something.
“I’m making my evaluations and then I’ll speak with the club.”
“The chairman has shown me that he wants me at all costs,” Conte added. “In his words and in the investments made, I saw a vision: the desire to excel.
“I said to myself: ‘If we combine this ability off the pitch with what I can give on the pitch, we can really set up a serious and profound job.’

We are not busy 4x quality first team players in JanIf the players are right, it is even more than enough.
I would say 4 players, if they would be
Quality CB
Quality passing CM
Quality AM
Quality striker
This would absolutely do wonders for us. I like Skipp and PEH, but we don't progress the ball fast enough and decisevly enough through the middle. Put there capable AM in Eriksen mould and capable CM in Kroos mould and everything about our team and play would be different.
I am not saying we would jump up to Liverpool level - no, it is not enough for that. But it would make us play significantly better.
Cool story, broOffering another Neutral's perspective because I am thoroughly annoyed by the sheer patronising tone of the Barca lad.

He's not in the top 10 of my 'unwanted' list. I'd rather see the back of people who just repost their pre-rehearsed agenda ad nauseum, multiple times per day.If you’re not a Spurs supporter just fucking do one
Enough trolls as it is
Absolutely brilliant comments
Nailed the mentality and quality issues, plus talks about investment.
Most importantly “players that deserve to play for this shirt”
Bra- fucking - vo
This is the manager we needed and the only manager for this club. Forget the rest, this was the only fix, no other manager is going to say these things in public, you can only imagine the scenes in Levys office right now.
A clear message to anyone who thinks everyone deserves a clean slate and that the likes of Dele, Winks and Davies can be resurrected
The game is up, the writings on the wall, the people who don’t want to be here won’t be here and those with out the quality, mentality or both can do one
This is the best thing I’ve read from anyone at this club, ever.
We have a manager who will fix this.
Or walk. And if he walks due to Levy, ENIC are done.
Win win
Tomorrow on Sportweek, the weekly of the GdS, special Conte and on his new adventure at Tottenham

And no, I'm not naming names.
You can listen to it now, too...The amount of times I've read 'nowhere to hide' and 'he'll walk' over the past few days![]()
