I wish this didn't exist!

...but it does, so we just have to live with it I guess!

Well, I wasn’t wrong was I?

We need a young, progressive head coach who will be here long term. Not a guy who’s going to fall out with everyone by Christmas.

Quote me on this: Conte will walk by January.
Well done on going against the grain & speaking your mind. My feeling is more that he is a bad match for us due to levy & his tightness. So the type of manager you mention seems like a better fit under levy’s type of budget & handling of managers.

My prediction is levy does 1 generous token gesture window before reverting back to type & then conte walks as he isn’t backed.

How many players do we realistically need to turn this around? And can it even realistically be done in 2-3 windows let alone a January window?

For me we have maybe 8-9 players of the required quality to get back challenging for top 4.

And we need what a squad of 22-25?

Not sure Conte is going to be around long enough to see us to a trophy, he might if we are very lucky at least steer the ship in the right direction before he leaves.

We've also got to somehow get rid of 70% of the squad

I don't even think it can be done.
Agreed. I think 2 in January & 5 or 6 in the summer just for starters. I think the target will be top 4 next season. Top 4 will be very tough so it seems crazy for conte to join us unless he is happy with top 4 only.
As you say, can’t see conte sticking it out long enough for us to be title contenders as it will take a good few years at least.
I guess we gotta take it one window at a time. It just seems like a waiting game as there is only so much you can do with our average team.

Jesus, these are some big predictions! Fair play I guess, bit of positivity and all that..

But personally I can’t see any world in which we finish above Liverpool. They look a universe away from us in terms of cohesion and quality, and I don’t see Conte getting close to making up that gap anytime soon.
After Thursday's performance, I would tend to agree. I still think Pool will have a few hiccups, but yeah, doesn't look like we could pip them.
