Wait, if you ban everything including oil and butter, what do you even eat?

In fairness, it is not all on Levy as you say. Owners need to collectively back themselves to grow the club again through success on the pitch.

One has to wonder if there's been times where Levy has suggested a cash injection and Lewis has said "no"....?

Afterall, he's the one with the huge sack full of money.

In the meantime; I'd suggest fans base their hopes/expectations upon what the club can "afford"..... Not Lewis's pension fund or some arbitrary amount that FFP will allow us to lose.

While there's no history to show that this should happen, I do think that Levy would understand that this is going to be his best chance to get some kind of silverware. A lot of the foundational work to build the club up has been leading up to this point. I don't see any stupid amounts of money coming our way, but I do believe that he will let the reigns go a little to allow Paratici to do what needs to be done.
I would hope so. Kulu and Betancur were important signings for us but they were still fairly cheap loans with options to buy. It would be nice to see us spending real money for established big dick players.

Congrats on getting the forth place, this was amazing achievement. Conte has done just a tremendous work so far.
But let's be realistic we are years away from both Liverpool and City. They have spend millions over millions year after year, and they have build this teams for quite some time.
Even if we spend 300m.(which we won't), we still won't be on their level.
And they also have top managers, so chasing PL title is just not realistic. Maybe in 3-4 year time, it's more realistic.

Look how Klopp transform Liverpool.
Big money for Salah.
Big money for Alisson
Big money for Fabinho
Big money for Virgil Van Dijk
Big money for Alcantara
Big money for Keita
Big money for Mane
Big money for Luis Diaz
Big money for Diogo Joto
And then you can allow yourself to put some prospects around them.

There is no way sense to start with City, cause they have 2x first team in there.

Conte was clear that the next year will be harder, cause we will have more matches with CL play, and with the 5 subs.
That made it clear that he would like to have big squad.
How can either of those two teams improve much? Us on the other hand, good transfers will make a difference, bridge that gap,

I think the cost really doesn’t matter , it’s the players that Conte actually wants and knows how they will fit in . You don’t always have to spend outrageous amounts of money to get the right sort of players in

True, BUT there are extremely quality players with a big price tag that Conte might want to get. Whatever Conte wants IMO. We can't shop at the bargain bin at such a crucial point of our team.

We fucked it up during Poch. Not anymore.

Agree , but like I said it has to be the players Conte wants , he will know who they are , the price tags are irrelevant . ( ie …. Harry Maguire £80 M ) fuck that !

With a couple of freebies (Foster & Eriksen)
A couple from the 20m-ish shelf
And 2 or 3 chunkier fees

I'd expect a circa £200m gross spend to the get the job done.

While nothing is guaranteed, I'd agree with ramping up the money for established players. I quite like the creative deals that Paratici has come up with so far, but I think that only works for up and coming, or players who maybe are 2nd choices elsewhere.

The one thing that does make me a little nervous is that when we do these more creative deals, that the fees come down the road and it impacts our ability to know how much additional we have to spend. I read that the Kulusevski fee to buy can be broken up in to 5 payments, but I'm not sure about the Bentacur and Romero deals.

The biggest mistake we make every summer is that our transfer incomings drag onto final day of window. We need to get all incoming done before pre-season so coach can have a full pre-season to settle in. I've heard conte wants that. Club needs stability this summer not another circus.

I think it's complicated. Lewis only owns 2/3rds of the club so it's not clear why he should invest in growing the value of Levy and the minor shareholders' stakes. Levy doesn't want a cash injection that dilutes his stake. I'd like to see us break out of that impasse so that we can risk a loss to grow our profile/keep the fans engaged by a bit more success.

Conte isn’t allowing that. He’s almost been plucked from the heavens asking the questions us fans have been asking of Levy for years. Difference is, Conte has the power and backing from everyone including the supporters. Levy and ENIC mess this up, the whole lot blows up in their face and the supporters will turn. Finally we are back on board. Don’t you dare fuck this Levy.

Daniel Levy has got another bite at the cherry again here. He fucked our progress after Pochettino and put us back years. Finally we’re on the right track again with a world class manager and CL. Back the guy Daniel Levy.
OH, wouldn't that have been swell!!
If Poch would have had chance to squander 120 mil more on shit players that will just waste our resources and time. What a platform would that have built....

Cristiano Ronaldo 'blocked' Man Utd managerial decision before Erik ten Hag was hired

Manchester United's search for a new permanent manager came to an end last month with the arrival of Erik ten Hag but it could have been different if Cristiano Ronaldo did not step in

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly blocked the proposed arrival of Antonio Conte to Manchester United earlier in the season.
The Italian was heavily linked with becoming the new United boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure back in November. However, Conte joined Tottenham Hotspur instead and helped spearhead the club back to the Champions League, pipping Woolwich on the final day.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils chose to bring in Ralf Rangnick in charge on an interim basis until the end of the campaign, before appointing Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman is tasked with guiding the Red Devils back to the top of the Premier League after a disappointing season.

But according to Manchester Evening News, United opted against hiring the Italian due to Ronaldo. The hierarchy consulted the big players at Old Trafford when it came to their new boss, with Ronaldo then 'blocking' Conte.

That then saw Tottenham step in and appoint Conte as their new boss after Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked. The 52-year-old has since taken Spurs from ninth and into the top four, finishing above United in the meantime.

Conte has done a terrific job to spearhead Tottenham's push back into the Champions League spots - something United could have done with when they decided to sack Solskjaer. However, they opted to bring in Rangnick but he struggled to bring back any kind of success to the club.
