Putting things into perspective, we got a point away at west ham where we usually dont get a point, because they are always up for it. we didn't play great. I'm not sure we have figured out what the right way to play with this team is yet. It just doesn't quite feel right yet, to me. I'm sure we are missing one or two players too, as Conte says, we have a long road ahead and need at least two more transfer windows. We fans need to be patient and be happy with progress, which clearly there has been looking at the table.

No one wants conte gone but his decisions tonight showed a lack of confidence in the squad. We’ll never have a squad at man city level so we need to make the most of what we have.

He needs to cut out the constant passing back and forth between Dier and Sanchez. Our center backs have to be more confident and sometimes need to progressively carry the ball out from the back. It kills us that they don’t take any risks both with forward passes and progressive carries. We see Davies carry the ball forward occasionally and obviously Romero is our best CB at both carrying and passing the ball forward, but we can’t only rely on him. Conte has to sort this out because it’s necessary in his system.
romero and lenglet the only ones that can competently pass through the lines and competently carry through the lines too.
as you say its a necessity that you have CB's capable to do both in this system too! which is madness to go into todays game with them 3 donkeys.
Nothing like the Mourinho and Nuno era. Stop spouting bullshit. The football is much more watchable even if the performance may not please us.
The problem is his system requires a small group of players being on good form at the same time, but over a season this is unlikely. The rest of the team are well drilled enough to not concede many clear goal threats with little possession, but I wouldn't call that an exciting watch visually. This is all a step up from recent managers, but there is still a big gap to the leading pack here and in Europe.
In the Cyhelsea, Wolves, and last night we conceded 2/3 Very good chances in front of goal in each game, lucky for us the players shot high or wide otherwise we would have lost those games

We lost to West Ham last year so 1 point up.
Let's not get carried away by opposition as yet or even performances.
I take a lot of strength from not having lost as yet.
What we need to do is find a more emphatic approach that enables us to maximise the squad.
No doubt we are a bit more passive than the ability of our players would suggest we should be, but I also think we need to add one more attacking option..

Conte is not blameless. He works with the players every day. It’s crystal clear Lloris, Sanchez and Royal are scarily below average on the ball.
Bissouma was desperate to go forward. He received on the half turn every time. But he knows he can’t trust or connect with Sanchez and Royal on the right hand side so the ball is constantly going backwards on Spurs right. Compare that to the progression on the left.
I’m not suggesting hoof it long, but it puzzles me why we persist with Royal.

Royal is our physically strongest RWB, he’s fully fit and knows what Conte wants. Doherty is coming off a big injury and Spence has never played a PL game before.
Royal is a big issue but not the biggest issue. Our biggest issue is the lack of urgency and drive from Dier and whoever is in midfield ahead of him. That triangle of players is far too eager to play safety first and slow the game down. They have to stop being so afraid to play football because we’ve seen that when we move the ball quickly we look dangerous. Even with some limited players on the pitch.
I have no problem with Conte's football. We have seen that when it clicks it is bloody fantastic. He does however need to up our intensity overall. We cannot afford to coast in any game this season. Every game is a cup final.
And if the players cannot respond to that then he has to make substitutions. No one should be allowed to coast on merit.
Maybe we could try a change in formation and dropping Kane down to the 10. Because I think that expecting Kane to lead the press and the front line is just asking for a lackluster press these days. He's aged out of aggressive pressing.

People have to remember this is still pretty much the same squad that was absolutely useless under Nuno and Mourinho.
-Dier and Sanchez just arent quality defenders. Dier has always been a poor player but for some reason we still persist with him
-holjberg and bentancur are CDMs. They dont have the ability to pass the ball forward and press forward. Which is why there is such a disconnect between midfield and the front 3
-we lack a creative midfielder who can create channels and make things happen.. we lack pace severely and need a proper winger. Kane keeps dropping deep when he should be a number 9
