That’s it. West Spam are shite. Their last hikes game, Graham Potter brought a Brighton side there that walked all over them. It’s a kop out all this talk about it been their Cup Final and a draw been a good result. Last night was a game we should have been winning. We okayed poorly and it was two dropped points.

I'm not sure it works like that, just because team A beat them means Team B should beat them as well, no two matches are alike otherwise going by that logic Brentford should smash Liverpool seeing as they did the same to Utd.

Let's be real, West Ham are gonna finish top 8 again, they were always likely to pick up some form at some point.

We will win the vast majority of games in this league but we're always going to drop points somewhere, shit happens.

I just realized... some people have said here
"oh, but it was about players. they should have been sharper and more aggessive!"

FFS what do you expect if you play every game with same XI ?!?
Switch it up and bring some energy then. But no, for tenth time - we just used one substitution... and one change was made in starting team, that too because of injury.

Playing style is dull, end off. Points are all that matter at the end of the day so will continue to take the points.

Drop points like yesterday playing dull shite and you’ll get bollocked.

I don't think it's as deep as people are making it, the reason why it looks shit is because we have a lack of technicians, like any formation and tactic the style of play is fine if you have the technicians, we don't or we do but they haven't played yet, even if we 'front foot' like we did under Poch, how many times did we look turgid because we didn't have the technicians to pull off what he wanted.

Peak Conte ball looks like this, we're not doing that with a back line of Sanchez, Emerson, Davies...The two outside backs in a sense need to be playmakers and comfortable on the ball.

Romero and Lenglet will completely change this by the way.

WHL would collectively shit their pants if Hugo tried a lob pass like that. :bergwijnconfused:

We wouldn't be able to do that exact play with Hugo in goal either, :llorishuh:

I get your point and you are delivering it calmly.
So maybe you could answer my equally calm question as well -

Why is it a bad thing that people have high standards and excpectations?
Why is it a bad thing to point out questionabilities and straight up mistakes?

I have seen no-one claiming that season would be over, or we would be in deep shit or whatever.

I think it is really poor mentality to be happy or satisfied with draw against shit side that only had scored 1 goal in previous 4 games. I think that West Ham should not be a yardstick to measure us against. So excuses like "their cup final" etc are just empty talk or even worse - poor excuse. If we want great things.
That's not an issue whatsoever, it's when I see things like "We are just as bad as we were under Nuno" that really makes me question if they have any rational thought process when making a claim like that.

We haven't played well this season so far, despite getting numerous wins, there are also plenty of things to be critical about as well.

However, I also understand that West Ham always give their game of the season against us and it was a midweek game after very little rest and we are out of form (despite us not having lost yet) also, it was away from home, a game we lost last season even when we were in better form imo.

I am not saying we should accept it or that we should not be beating them, we should, I am simply saying that it's a marathon, not a sprint and in the context of the game and the season so far, the draw was, imo, not a bad result.

It's early days yet, I am almost completely confident that we will win a trophy this season and finish in the top 3, I don't think we have the squad to win the league yet but if we have a successful season this year, hopefully we can push on for that next season.

All these gooners thinking they are going to win the league are fucking delusional.

Totally agree , Lenglet and Romero can pass out quickly from the back . Will make a big difference

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen- exactly why Chelsea Woolwich and Spammers hate us. “Completely confident we will win a trophy and top 3”. And the Woolwich fans are delusional? Why should we be beating West Ham ? We lost there last two seasons it was a midweek game for them too with the same amount of rest. We will look at that result last night as a point gained and probably lucky we played them before they got into their stride with all their new signings.

The use or lack of use of subs is what I've been banging on about since the end of last season
with 5 subs the way a game is played has changed yet few coaches see what you can do
coming from grassroot coaching (both kids & seniors) you have to use roll on/off subs to benefit the team
many coaches still play their best players then sub on the weaker ones, But a loe more now play a mix of players and sub weak ones for weak ones and good ones for good ones

Reading so much negativity on this site used to really depress me, I was almost at the point of just walking away like more than a few others....until I realised that none of us have a fucking clue what we are talking about...it's all just fucking noise to me now.

Well, my wee cunt of a dog died yesterday and I also actually spent my afternoon at a children's hospice so a disappointing football result was put into perspective amazingly quickly...
