Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I answered your question before you asked it. I already said Richie and Kulu should have started when Son was out of form.

Why would Conte change his system? Because our attack is shit. We have no creativity from midfield and only one wingback can create chance.

A top manager changes to fit his players best style. He doesn’t try making every player play his style when they clearly can’t.

No way Skip gets playing time. Conte will continue running out the same XI until we fall apart and he blows up.
What is our players' best style?

Yet everyonn no e says we have one of the best squads in the pl. better than goons even. His just making excuses as he always does at his clubs. Remember chavs he started the fall out bcos he didn’t get a player he wanted I believe. His got a good squad of players. Which is certainly at a better level than the football we are playing. He should utilising the squad he has to play better football by coaching. Other coaches / teams seem to be able to do it with far less spend and on paper less quality players.
Yeah I agree with most of that. But I still find it strange we have gone down the long term route with conte as I see him as a manager you go all in with for 2-3 years & he wins you a few things. Then it falls apart & you start again in a new direction. We have gone for the long term route & not fully backing him with what he usually succeeds with. The gradually improving the squad & him making the most of it isn't really his skill set from what I gather. Similar to why despite people telling me jose was a great choice from levy, I just never saw how it could work unless we fully backed him.
So we have a good manager in specific conditions. But we haven't giving him these conditions. So it has its limitations as does conte. Not excusing him as he should be doing better this season with those at his disposal. But on the flip side, I wouldn't expect it with him usually needing much better first 11 to win things. So again, I don't think enic/levy & conte are a good match/fit. Not a disaster or a terrible fit. But I think the limits are top 4 at best. & I would take that now, same way we scraped it last season with Woolwich blowing it, thank god!

I think we missed the boat this summer. If we aren't going to improve the first 11 & really back him then may as well have a different manager who is better suited. But he is a good manager & did well to get us to top 4 & may as well stick with him for now. My ideal choice would have been to back him fully & go all in for a wild 2/3 years ride with him. Finally get some silverware. Then get a poch type manager in for a more long term project.

Defensively we are very good at the moment, attacking wise we are pretty bad. Don't know what is his influence in the attack, but sometimes it just seems to me we are lacking quality there, we hardly can string some passes, Son first touch is one of the worst I've ever seen and the others lack creativity. Giving most of our creativity in this tactics should come from wing backs and give the bad form of our attackers it's hard to think we will improve much. At least we have Kulusevski coming back.

I think there are two major factors in our attacking issues. First one is right-wing back, I hope Doherty has a run and gets himself back to his form before the injury last season. The second one is the form of Son - we simply need him to play better, his basic play is quite shit at the minute. I have faith in him, but we need him to get back to his best asap.

I read a lot of nervousness, a natural consequence of the defeat in the derby. As a neutral observer, allow me a judgment (not required).

You are in the leading group in an anomalous season where the World Cup will have heavy aftermath: I am thinking of injuries, squeezed players, exhausted mental energies.

I think the important thing is to stay ahead and not lose too many points, then the balance can change.

Being negative when you have only 4 points from the first is only an advantage that you give to the competition.
1 step good… 😉
