Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What am I evading? Liverpool are the only club to ever win a title are they? There is no other way to win a title except the way liverpool did it? We do not need a playmaker because Liverpool didnt have a playmaker when they won a title in a certain year?

LISTEN TO YOURSELF
True not a play maker in the traditional sense. However they did have Fabinho who controls the CM picking up the ball from CD.
Plus they had a front three who all worked hard and were great on the ball. Players like mane and salah hardly ever lose the ball have great control. Where as our front players at times give up possession far to easy unless it’s on a counter.

Conte’s 38 league games in charge:
79 points
82 goals scored
34 conceded

The Previous 38 league games for Spurs: 56 points
56 goals scored
52 conceded

The way this guy instantly elevates teams is crazy, Kulu, Perisic and Bentancur are the only real starters he’s added (Romero wasn’t his, Bissouma/Richarlison not part of the XI IMO)

This is what I was told to expect from that Portuguese guy at Roma.

Great post.

I know the style of play can be an issue (not with me) but honestly what Conte has done for this club in such a short space of time is amazing and not just on the pitch. Literally elevated us from a team with no direction to one of the most organised in the league. The players we have and can attract now is incredible. Conte basically runs the club now :contethumb:

the only thing I would suggest to conte: give a chance to spence and bryan gil and have more trust in paratici's eye

Third-best attack, second-best defence, 100% home record in all competitions this season, all whilst not playing at our best! He’s totally changed the mindset at the club, in just 1 year
:contepoint:

Agreed

Sometimes not good to watch as in periods of the first half yesterday but we’re getting there!!

Expect a 2-1 win at OT

62% win record since he arrived, by far the best record of any manager we've had.

Two weeks ago people were calling for his head

I think ‘’people’’ would consist of about 2-3 individuals on this forum. There are a few fans who just don’t like the style of football and that is their opinion which they are welcome to, vast majority of fans will be on his side because we mostly get results and the football style is a lot better than Nuno/Jose/AVB even if we are not quite Klopp or even peak Poch in terms of raw entertainment.

In my view we are lucky to have him and if he signs a new contract and is backed in the market we will do well.

And the rest on Twitter, its a minority but a loud minority regardless who like to make their voices heard so it's only natural to 'clap back' at them

I understand people not liking this style of play but to want the man fired when he's actually made us into a very good team who are still improving is very puzzling to me.

Yeh that is a bit odd it’s not like we are Real Madrid and can demand elite entertainment, constant winning and the best players.

Can see us getting 80 points this season. We're set up to take 3 points against pretty much every team outside the big 6. Even the occasional bad day against those teams will be offset by a good day against one of the bigger teams.

Twitter people do not count. The site is full of spam, bots, idiots and people just looking to fight. We could win the league and they would still be complaining on twitter.

I am one that has never been a fan of Conte. I do not want him out but I do want changes made (which he has done the past two games). I also just do not believe in planning long term with him. People saying "Imagine what he can do in a 3 year time" but when has he ever been at a club that long besides Juve? That's just not his style.

I thought that as well, but realistically what club bigger than us would take him and pay him as much as we're willing to?

If we don't piss him off like Chelsea and Inter did, he'll stay. Why wouldn't he? He's paid well and set up for success.
But what does it take to piss him off? Not buying his players. What is Levy great at? Not buying enough players.

I think Levy has done well the past few windows but I think Conte is a manager who always wants more. Levy will point to players we recently bought that are barely playing and say "Why would I buy more?"
