Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

hes clearly trying to make a point the squad lacks quality, but at least show us that by giving the rest of the squad a chance to prove it. his reluctance to change the team or bring subs on early enough to change the game is fucking weird.

a good manager should be able to adapt to his squad and come up with the best system to suit them players until he can get the right players in to play the way he wants to play. the winter window cant come quick enough, we need at least 2 players in and they both need to be upgrading dier and davies. that back 3 need to be competent footballers, dier and davies are seriously punching at this level and we are paying the price for that in tough games like tonight, and we will continue to until its sorted.

What really disappoints me about Conte is the utter sterility of the football and how awful we have been in the so called Big Six matches. He was supposed to bring us that big game experience and winning mentality. We’ve had 9 league games under him between this season and last against Big 6. Despite the utter negativity and lack of ambition, we’ve still managed to ship 17 goals. The only clean sheet was in the 3-0 home win to Woolwich who were down to 10 men after half an hour. Throw in a home and away mauling to Chavs in League Cup semi final as well.

We're not as good as we thought were. We overrate ourself.
This is how we've been playing all season. Against bottom half teams, it's usually enough to secure victory but against teams like City, Chelsea, Woolwich, man utd, we were always bound to be pummelled.

Conte will either walk at the end of the season or commit to getting it right.

I think he cares but also get the impression he is a bit perplexed at what he can do.

It's not a matter of method because it's been shown to work but he has to find players who can deliver under the greatest stress.

I think his problem is that he thinks certain players can, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. And what we rarely if ever see for whatever reason is collective excellence at the same point

A real conundrum.

This fella is getting away with absolute murder due to past achievements.

I wouldn't lose any sleep if he fucked off tomorrow, but I suppose I'll wait for May and pray he doesn't sign an extension.

15 million quid a year. :myword:
If it wasn’t for Conte we’d be playing europa conference football this season with some unknown as manager, and Kane would be playing for Bayern

But yeah ‘past achievements’

Tell me a realistic manager we could have that is better than Conte, I’ll wait

Klopp, 7 years. Guardiola 7 years.

Mad how fans expect Conte to come into a club and change a whole mentality after not even a year in charge.

If we sacked Conte today, we'd still lose to Woolwich, Man Utd, Chelsea etc with a new manager in charge and then the cycle repeats. No wonder we don't get anywhere.

Give the guy a chance ffs.

Sort of the point though. Those 2 are project managers who have built from the ground up particulaly Klopp. Conte has not been anywhere longer than 3 years and i suspect never will be. He's a win now manager who prefers experienced players for a 2 or 3 year hit. Besides he's out of contract in May as it stands so the debate isnt really about sacking him but whether we should pay through the nose to get another 12/18 months out of him.

Yeah I think he’ll be off end of season. I hope levy’s thinking ahead.

Exactly, you've said it yourself. 3 years is longer that 12 months. He's already spoke about the team needing another two transfer windows to compete for the title. Yeah it would be nice to win the League, but im pretty sure one of the main reasons we're so disappointed about what's going on currently is because Woolwich are top. It was like last season, 5th would have been a good season if it were not for our battle with Woolwich. Even Legoman at Woolwich has been there a good few years now. Conte is right, you can't go from 9th to 1st in the space of 12 months especially in the amount of comps we're competing in this season.
