Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

However I’d settle for a 0-0 in this match😀
But makes you wonder what we could have been like now with one of these two managers being charge from summer 21?
Same shit. Different day.

[Edit] Although to be fair. United under ETH have looked a completely different beast recently. The passing and movement looks in a different world to last season. Confidence team? Maybe but Dr. Tottenham will see you now.

Graham Potter making a change to the midfield after 35 minutes realising that it wasn’t working against Manure.

Just sayin’.
I enjoyed all the comments earlier this summer about how Potter possibly hadn't proven enough to manage "a big club". I wasn't exactly sure who else he could manage that, if successful, we'd actually be able to then sign him from. Well, I guess Chelsea, bless their little hearts, felt like he was worth the risk.

I get the feeling unless we beat Newcastle 5-0 with 20 shots on target there’ll be fans moaning.

I can only assume they’re either under 30 or they don’t go to games. Ffs this is our best start in decades, I’ve no idea what some people expect

We had 25 points on the board after 11 games in 2011/12 as opposed to 23 from 11 now. We also won games 12 & 13 in 2011/12 to make it 31 points from first 13 games. So it’s not our best start in decades over the first 11 games. The football was a hell of a lot more entertaining under Harry in 2011/12 too.

Conte gets us 75 - 80 points with this squad probably. Give him a few better players and he'll get more points.

The footy won't change much in terms of style though. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Well it’s nonsense anyway

Maybe it isn't.....

One way or another the truth will out.

I have to say, as much as I want to believe the reason we look so pants in matches is due to some masterplan that Conte is going to have us fully fit and raring to go after the World Cup...........

It's a bit of a reach - and I have to say it's most probably bollocks.

Surely we'd have started to look better as we approach November 20th, but if anything we look the same or slightly more jaded than we did at th start of the season.

I’d just like to see Conte have us play more of a passing and shifting game. Watching the Chavs / Manure game yesterday they both moved the ball around so quickly, before you knew it the play was attacking the opponent’s goal.
With us, Loris gives the ball to Dier, who pushes it across to the left, who pushes it straight back to Dier who pushes it across to the right who pushes it straight back to Dier who pushes it up to PEH, who keeps his back to the opponent’s half then pushes it straight back to Dier who …. well, you get the picture….

trouble is we don't have players that see the pass(only have Kane now)
most of the players have to look, look , and look again before they play a pass

We are definitely painfully slow. It adds into the predictability of our passages of play.

Kane
Kulu
Perisic
Bentancur
Romero
Lenglet
PEH (sometimes)

Problem is the 'stop, look, look and look again' thing is contageous when the collective team is in that groove.

I'm not going as far as to vouch for it's credibility....

All I'm saying is that there's not frame of reference for such a season and in terms of player fitness/durability there's far smart minds at play than you or I....... And that to write it all off as the media making excuses on Conte/Spurs behalf is a stretch it itself considering the media are usually only too happy to stick the boot in.

Tbh, if it was the case, I doubt Conte would have things geared up to kick in when the lads leave for the WC (rather than after)...... Nothing about that would benefit Spurs.

"The Media"

One guy on Twitter

:dembelelol:

The real worrying thing is if this is true..... Then there's nothing to say that Arteta, Guardiola and even Klopp are doing exactly the same thing.

If we use this narrative for Klopp and Liverpool's woes, it starts to become even more unbelievable.

I so badly want it to be true...... But the idea that you'll be able to time when a player reaches his peak, after a World Cup which you have no control over, is a little far fetched to say the least would you not say?
