Yes , that was the time to make a decision either way. I guess they thought a see how you go approach might work after the world cup but the performances against Brentford, Villa and Contes general demeanour and we should have pulled the plug then imo. I think Conte mentally checked out during that 6 weeks off. Maybe promises weren't kept, maybe the death of friends makes him want to be home. Who knows. But I think its too late to show committment now, the time has gone. The football and results are too dreadful to warrant a new deal.Pinch of salt, but all this crap really should have been thrashed out during the WorldCup.
Well we know Conte's vision is to have us competing as he's said it.
Tuchel is not exactly defensive. I think he’s a good tactician, but I am not sure someone like him would be a fit for the massive rebuild we must undertake, I mean he’d end up clashing with that bald cunt for sure and you’d have another Conte situation in 18 months.Another outspoken, defensive manager who will expect big transfers. What could go wrong?

Probably after he learned of our January budget.Yes , that was the time to make a decision either way. If we go that way, I wish we’d go Rangnick as DOF and Marco Rose as manager. But obviously won’t happen.
What would be our Paulinho-kicking-Suarez-in-the-heart moment, and why will it be by Romero?I reckon if we lose by 4 or 5 on Thursday, he'll be gone.
AVB vs, Liverpool style.
On days like today it feels difficult to tell whether these articles are entirely organic (because let's be honest, we've not been great on the pitch) or whether there's some cheeky club briefing of journos behind the scenes.
I'd never rule out Levy and co. doing the latter to get fans warmed up to an imminent managerial sacking.
Romero breaks Haaland's nose. What would be our Paulinho-kicking-Suarez-in-the-heart moment, and why will it be by Romero?

Mourinho and Conte were both reactive appointments aimed at keeping our stars at Spurs. Kane above all. This screams of Levy being desperate to win anything with Kane.
He will be hard pressed to sell Kane in the summer if we cannot win anything (FA Cup I guess). Because he is even more desperate to avoid Kane going on a free to Chelsea or god forbid, Woolwich.
This desperation explains our shotgun approach to everything since after the CL final. It has all been to try and capitalize on Kane's peak years.
I can't reasonably see Levy change his approach until Kane is actually gone.
It may be for the best for both parties if Kane is sold to United this summer. He can go chase titles and not be involved in another gamble. And we can fully commit to a rebuild and a new identity.
And maybe he comes back to wind down when we may be ready to fully gun for a title again.
Tuchel linked huh (of course).
Screams of another last dance. Based on his Chelsea stint he would not play the most illustrious of football.
BUT! Tuchel at the very least has it on his resume that he does know how to play attacking football. He's not meant to be a one trick pony like Jose or as it seems, Conte.
Tuchel's Dortmund team was very tactically flexible. Utilizing the gegenpress and positional play. And different formations depending on the opponent.
And his PSG side was also very tactically flexible and sound.
Maybe he's been too hardened by his PSG and Chelsea spells. And maybe I am just trying to see the positive in things. But maybe a Tuchel that has refound his love for football could go back to being a more attacking manager.
We know that he can coach attacking teams.
Mourinho and Conte were both reactive appointments aimed at keeping our stars at Spurs. Kane above all.
He could have chosen managers adapted to the reality of what he was prepared to spend on players, but Kane wouldn't have hung around. Instead it's looking like it was all a big PR job. Fake ambition.
