NHS website:

It'll usually take around 2 weeks to return to your normal activities if you have a desk job, and longer if you have a more manual job.

After open surgery, you'll usually have to stay in hospital for 3 to 5 days, and your recovery time will be longer.

It can take around 3 to 4 weeks to return to your normal activities, and 6 to 8 weeks if you have a more manual job.

We're not gonna see him properly take training for a while, then

Ah i I’d say he’ll be back on the touch line before the end of feb. Doesn’t seem like a man who’d enjoy ‘R&R’ prob be in regular phone contact sun Stellini and the lads within a week

I hope he has a good rest and recovery.

My cousin suffered from this as a kid and had to have her gall bladder removed. One of my most jarring childhood memories was being on vacation with her and my grandparents when she had her first serious issues with it.

She was stuck in the back of our caravan trailer screaming like she was being repeatedly stabbed and we couldn't really do anything except go to the hospital.

Anyone here with medical expertise who knows how long the recovery period is from such a surgery? Weeks? Months?
Will probably be done laparoscopically (key hole surgery ) so if no complications will be a day case - most patients are given a 2 week sick note - he will be feeling below par for a while - if complications such as blocked common bile duct or difficulty removing the gall bladder means they convert to open surgery discharge and recovery will be much longer

Best wishes for a speedy recovery
