Yep. Same, Spurs and Conte were never a good fit. Conte has a certain playing style hes just not going to get out of these players and is used to getting the players he wants no questions asked. This has club briefing written all over it. The groundwork is fully laid down now for a sacking tomorrow night if we go out.
I don't dislike Conte at all, even though the situation has grown frustrating, but if accurate he really needs to go now rather than allow things to get increasingly toxic before the season's end. It's worth remembering that the entire fanbase was incredibly united behind him (and somewhat against Levy) and yet that has managed to flip in recent months.
If it is Poch, I think we should be looking beyond Kane and Probably son. I think Richarlison leading the line as number 9 with some genuine young quality wingers is the future, and finally get a decent CAM.If it is Poch, the Kane question will be very important because Harry categorically does not have the legs to lead the press we need.
Agree, although I doubt Richarlison is good enough long term. I think he could hopefully settle as a busy winger/9 that can contribute 10ish goals a season. If it is Poch, I think we should be looking beyond Kane and Probably son. I take it the author has been briefed by the club and that the names mentioned to take over are the ones the board may be considering.
Poch isn't a done deal then, I don't know if thats because the board actually want to consider other managers or if Poch is waiting to see if Madrid come in for him.
It sounds like the board would like Tuchel but are aware that he probably wouldn't come and the fans really don't want another ex-chelsea manager, so thats good. He'd do a Conte and only sign for 12 months until a bigger club came calling anyway.
I have no idea why he said some fans would love to see Mason promoted. He must have a word count he needs to meet for this article.
De Zerbi is a good choice, I heard he has a release clause which is less than Conte's yearly salary so if they really want him they should be willing to pay it. He seems very ambitious so if he doesn't feel like Brighton are trying to push higher and are just content with being a selling club he might want to go elsewhere.
I like Marco Silva as well, he's done a good job at Fulham and I think he would come here immediately if given the chance. He hasn't even signed an extension yet at Fulham.
"Inside the club now, they sense a need to take control of the situation and make clear that they are thinking about life beyond Conte. They do not want to sleepwalk into a manager-less post-season as they did two years ago. Succession planning will not begin on the bus back from Elland Road after the final game of the season."
If thats the case why didn't the succession plan begin in January? It sounds like they're more interested in making it appear as though they have a plan rather than actually having one.
Yup, maybe Paris to London is an easy 2hr train ride away, I travel 1 hour 50 minutes each way to a job that’s not as financially rewarded as his. So with Poch I kind of get itTo be fair, I think Poch was shacked up in a hotel during his whole time at PSG, right? Can certainly see it as a manifestation of them being homesick/not wanting to commit to their new club long term.
I think he might be waiting to see what Madrid do, Perez has tried to get him in the past. He'd do well at Madrid too.Yeah I'm not entirely convinced it will be Poch if we wait till the summer to make a change. Before then, much more likely I reckon.
Gotta question if Son is up for it as well.If it is Poch, the Kane question will be very important because Harry categorically does not have the legs to lead the press we need.
I find it funny how some part-time call center job guy like yourself calls a very successful football manager “brain-dead idiot”. Not that you will ever taste 1% of his success, but you’re more likely to be the “brain-dead idiot” here.
Gotta question if Son is up for it as well.
I think that you can work around having one forward that doesn't press too much. You could see it against West Ham and Chelsea, when we had Richarlison and Dejan that could press more aggressively, and allow Harry to drop back a bit.
But if you have two older(ish) strikers that are dropping off in the press then you are just running the third guy in our formation into the ground trying to do the work of 3 men.
"To win is not easy or simple'"
It's a lot fucking easier if you start your strongest side in cup competitions, pal.
Agreed. But that wasn't what I questioned. I questioned relying on him to press consistently when defending at his age.Son's been played with his back to goal, if you play him off the shoulder then he's fine - I don't know why Conte continues to use him like that.

We pressed better against West Ham and Chelsea because two thirds of our attacking line was younger and have the engine to still press consistently. Playing both Kane and Son these days will lead to us not pressing as much because neither of them do that these days.
Conte also trying to coddle his ego. He thinks he's some kind of managerial genius, but turns out he just always had really, really good players. So ‘winning is hard’ is the new memo that’s been circulated to employees.
This fucking club.
He certainly does do that (they all play with their backs to goal; drives me nuts) but it’s difficult to know if that’s him adjusting for losing a yard of pace or a lack of confidence.Son's been played with his back to goal, if you play him off the shoulder then he's fine - I don't know why Conte continues to use him like that.
These leaks always stink of upstairs blaming the players,
Either there really are players that feel they can pick the manager or somebody upstairs really thinks everyone is dumb enough to suck up this BS line again…
It can’t be Winks this time so who would it be?
