Apparently if we loan within the PL then they can still count as HG. Maybe we can loan Bergvall to someone like Coventry or Ipswich where he can play regular minutes?

Indeed & it's not just me dear friend check out his player rankings as an average the entire forum haven't rated him above a 6 as a season average...because he is bang average...
So Xavi Simons, who came through La Masia, has raved about what a talent he is, but 'Guy From The Lane' thinks he's ordinary...while also thinking he can look like Ronaldinho on his mobile phone.
You're actually more deluded than the kid who thought the club should pay him to be in the changing room hyping the team up. This forum must have some of the most deluded people going.
Of course his team mate is gonna say he's good - what player on a team is gonna say otherwise man you're levels of naive...

In my view:
a) the kid's got plenty of the requisite talent
b) he might have more natural speed that we have usually seen from him, because he has been playing very deep
c) having to play out of position, particularly at the back last season should have built resilience and given him a good sense of what he needs to do as a MF player to link with his backs
d) he has sometimes looked too weak for the PL and been bullied by the opposition - and occasionally his MF option-taking was a shade optimistic - but this is something that age and experience (and good coaching) should remedy (enough)
e) as with others, Gray should prosper under RDZ who seems to have an empathy with the players sadly lacking with Frank/Tudor (Ange wasn't too bad in this area) - Gray's willingness to push forward and his (hitherto pretty latent) distribution skills should suit RDZ's style of play
f) RDZ may well keep Gray in the 22 for most games (because he can play both the MF and at the back) and, if we can get some steel and skill in our MF from others, use Gray off the bench in PL games and use him as a starting MF player in the cups
g) so Gray is a keeper - I would not loan him out - he should get enough football with us.

His most impressive performances were at right back where he showcased some impressive passing range in a couple of games.
At central midfield he was in the 1 percentile for progressive passes for the majority of the season. He refused to play it forward and went for the safe option (which is impossible to do at RB as there's nobody behind but a goalkeeper).
If we are a serious club we would loan him and Bergvall and bring in 2/3 actual quality cm's but we are not.

Its clear as day for two seasons he has been completely mismanaged. Both Ange and Frank never looked after him as a young player deserves. Im not even sure he was coached, just his inate ability was used to cover whatever hole was in the team.
Under Tudor he showed glimpses of what he can do, particularly the Madrid game where he looked quality
Im very excited to see what RDZ can do with him, because in his 3rd season here he will actually be coached in a position in the team! (and the team will actually have a shape, tactic, method that works...)
(arguably, could say the same about several of our players)
