Player Archie Gray

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

A teenage midfielder gets his first start in his preferred position and gets stuck with two world class shitholes in midfield with him, still ends up looking the best of the bunch, and we have the usual nonsense binning him off after less than 100 minutes played.

The same teenager who was thrown into CB with the worst of our squad as partners and came out with a Young Player of the Year award to show for it.

Give me a break.

He was sluggish on the ball at times, including a few heavy touches in relatively dangerous areas , but I thought his overall defensive work was miles ahead of the work of some others that had previously been tried at DM.

His instinct to drop between the CBs works especially well with a CB like Romero who likes to regularly push further up the defensive line to disrupt opposing players. It was looking like a back 3/back 5 more often than not. Irrespective of what you think of a back 5 in a vacuum, I think we can all agree that this team needs some defensive solidity above anything else at the moment.

He should be the primary choice at DM going forward.
I thought he struggled to impose himself on the game. He was loose with the ball and didn't win any 50/50s. I don't think he's a bad player but we overpaid and he probably wont been seen to his best until we have hounded him out of this club. Ideally, he shouldn't be starting more than half a dozen games for us this season and maybe ten next season but such is the mess the clubs is in, he's one of the first names on the team sheet.

Gray is one of those players who will end up at City to replace Rodri...

Bergwall is the type of player who will end up at Liverpool and thrive...

Romero is already mentally wearing a famous white shirt... Just not ours!

We'll no doubt extend Bissouma's contract!

WE'RE the problem, not some of our better players!

i thought he was our best player in the first half. pumped the ball around nicely in the midfield and made good decisions on the ball. you can see hes going to be levels above the likes of bentancur and bissouma, in fact, i think he already is....

you could see earlier that CM is his natural position, not CB.

In my eyes right now the best, likeliest possible future spine of the club for us is Bergvall and Gray in CM. If we aren't trying to build around that long term we are complete fools who don't even understand what it is we have, much less where we actually are.

He's thrown Gray away like he did Moore. Funny thing is, both were playing well (better then most of the senior players) when he discarded them.

Ange is again all over the place. From playing Gray every game to not even trusting him to come on as a centre back (instead deciding to move the FB to CB....an FB he also didn't trust a little while ago as well).

Is he trying to say we were previously more interested in developing young players than winning games?

Every time he talks now it’s a car crash.

It took me a while but I’m so done with his shit.

Exactly. Strongly suspect he said he’d play youngsters to get the job but never really believed it.

Same thing with selling Kane. No other manager would take the job unless Kane stayed. He agreed to it because he wanted to be here.

We needed a manager that wanted to be here but the conditions involved just resulted in candidates saying what the club wanted to hear

Respect to you Richard 👏
