We need New CM asap far more than CB, Gray cannot deputise for Paliniha or Benta !!!!

CB we have danso, dragusin only a month away also davies can deputise for a bit.

However in CM we are light if we get any injuries + Plus Sarr who looks like he will be so immense this season will miss nearly 2 months for afcon dec/jan.

Nah- we'll be ok. This is a great situation for Gray and us. We can just play Palhinha whenever we feel like Gray might be in over his head. Great situation for him to be able to learn and grow in.

He's just a kid playing a mans game and doing bloody well , give him a couple of seasons to get to grips with the position and learn , and put on a few kilo's with some muscle and he will be fine .

He looks good with the ball at his feet and he doesn't get fazed .

He's a class act, I don't understand how people can't see just how good a footballer he is right now and how good he can become. Frightening potential.
Agreed. I think that some people jumped on the lad because everyone else was. Last season wasn't flattering for anyone. Every single one of our players looked shit because they played in a very unforgiving system. If things went well, everything was fine, but the teams that sussed us out made us and our players look very vulnerable.

Gray is a young lad with an incredibly high ceiling. He constantly shows glimpses of what he's about, same as Bergvall and with the right manager i.e. Thomas Frank, both have the very best opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Last season was mostly about him getting any minutes at PL level.

This season should be more about him getting minutes in the midfield. Good to see that he grew into game, cause i didnt like 1st half from him - especially when we were in possesion (some of Romero's failed passes where IMO caused because Gray was not in expected positions).

Agree but he didn’t even look shit last year.

With the obvious Burnley caveat, the thing that stood out for me with Gray yesterday is that he set the tempo. When he was steady and “recycling” the ball first half, the team was the same. Second half he turned it up, pressed higher, stole the ball, played more direct passes, sprayed it around, and the whole team responded.

If he can learn to be our tempo setter, that’s massive
