I desperately want this to be the case. He's 20 now. Not a kid anymore. 100 games under his belt. Give him a run in our base midfield at 8 and lets see if he can develop into a box to box midfielder who can run all day and chip in with the odd goal/assist.It would be a terrible move.... Think he will get us our biggest fee in the summer, aside from Vuskovic possibly if he goes. None of our senior players are worth anything.
There's been more than flashes this season which suggest he was absolutely worth the £40m, and I'd given up on him badly.I think there is a lot of hype around Gray. I haven't seen enough to justify the exaggerated price tag (40 million was it?? 40 MILLION!). There seems a bizarre pathology among many Spurs supporters to clamp down on a young player, build a narrative of how exceptional he is, how he will be the club captain for 10 years and how he can't leave for less than double his price. Personally, I don't see much difference in ability between Gray and Bergvall on the one hand and our own club grown players who are loaned out, ignored and written off without game time. I thought Gray has done okay, with a few very good games (for example home against Atlético) but I havent seen what many others claim about him. His passing is limited, he is slow footed and isnt particularly strong physically. Might become really good but might not be that good. Hard to tell. But certainly zero evidence that the NINTH richest club in the world should be centering its future around him.

The kid has dealt with some bullshit here. Playing 1/2 of a season as an 18 year old PL newcomer, out of position at CB was nuts, of course he didn't look like prime Nesta there. Then being shuttled around every position on the pitch seemingly while always giving a good account of himself. That take cajones and when he got to play actual midfield he was very good.
Look at the club's rumoured to be interested in him, they're not small fry. He needs a chance to be given a solid run of games in midfield in a competent set up, which he's very rarely had.
I can't pick Gray when Porro is playing week in and week out and he has been pretty consistent unlike van de Ven. Gray hasn't been on the park enough and also shown some inconsistency when playing. For me, no matter what happens between now and the end of the season I think Archie is player of the season.
No way will Porro win it. Too many people hate him and his form has been all over the place.I can't pick Gray when Porro is playing week in and week out and he has been pretty consistent unlike van de Ven. Gray hasn't been on the park enough and also shown some inconsistency when playing.
It is a weird season to win player of the season. I feel Porro wins by default due to availability because I can't make a case for anyone else.

Jp only splits opinion because some spurs fans know SFANo way will Porro win it. Too many people hate him and his form has been all over the place.
Think Gray almost wins it by default, a little like Bergvall last year. He's young, everyone likes him and he's the one player who impressed when the team was collapsing around him. Van de Van actually has the highest match ratings on the forum but no chance he wins it after the mid-season fall out and fan backlash.
I think the only other viable contender is Palhinha weirdly. Scored vital goals, been a leader on the pitch and is ending the season strong. But also, naturally, a weird pick given hes been in and out of the team and massively splits opinion.
They’ve had loads of minutes!!!!!!! Any more and we’d be going down !!!!!!!!Agree totally. It'd be great if we can find a way to get enough starts and minutes for Gray and Bergvall to meaningfully progress with us next season, but it's going to be difficult. RDZ has some very tough decisions to make figuring out how to set up our CM rotation next season.
