Competition Are we playing for 5th ?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We are heading towards another 15th or worse finish this season.

Can imagine that a fair few people will wholeheartedly disagree with this but did a quick look at how we have done in past 2 and a bit seasons and it's getting worse and worse.

23/23 season 66 points
24/25 season 38 points
25/26 season 18 points

Total 89 games and 122 points so 1.37 points per game so that's 52 points over a season

Last 80 games and it's 98 points so 1.23 points per game so that's 46 points over a season

Last 50 games and it's 55 points so 1.1 points per game so that's 42 points

46 points would get us no higher than 14th in past 2 seasons and 42 points would of gotten us no higher than 15th.

So over last 80 league games we are trending for 14th and if we go shorter than that we are trending worse.

We cannot in any serious way call ourselves a big club. We are a lower table team with players and a manager who fit that description.
Thinking about top 5 is laughable.

Statistics never lie ; extrapolating from game Day 1 ; we’ll end up tidily placed in joint second with Sunderland but behind CIteh who take the title with a hundred percent record , 152 goals scored and none conceded . We manage 114 or and none against but finish joint second on GD . Gutting but just about live-able with . Another year in the lucrative Champions League secured .

Meanwhile ; Arse and Man U will be flirting with relegation . And Burnley , Wolves and Spam go down.

What’s not to like ?

There is a direct correlation between a football club's finances and their success so we should be a big club.

The trouble is our finances are used to develop additional revenue streams rather football

I'm surprised at the negative comments. Assuming there is not an injury crisis like Spurs had the past 3 seasons, there is no reason to think this squad can't win the league.

Spurs finished 5th in an injury ravaged season where they were forced to play Davies/Royal at center back.

Vic, Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie + Paulinha has to rank as one of the best defences in the league. Spurs will no longer be playing out from the back, so one of Vic's weaknesses will be mitigated.

Spurs will be more conservative and defensive. Expect more draws, less losses.

Of course, up front there is no Son, Kulu and Madison - and Johnson may well have lost his place. So it's hard to see where the goals will come from. But if Spurs become set piece FC, there are plenty of goal scorers in the side. But, it's clear Spurs need a focal point and goal scorer so either Solanke, Richarlison, Tel or Johnson will need to fight to become that guy - and that competition makes perfect conditions for them give 100% to claim the starting place.

COYS
This is my personal favourite.

As long as this keeps up, and our players health keeps up, theres no reason we can make a dark horse run at the title.

Levy should be seeing this and thinking "if I simply add some real quality here, we might really be capable of having a go at it".

This right now is the place where you look at your hand, see how strong it is, and vastly increase your bet. These are the high-percentage chances. Levy has a real chance here to back Frank and do something special.
This is also a good one

We needed about 11 new players of top class quality to even sniff the league.

A top LW and better coaching we could have easily been on 12-15 more points right now. That'd have put us there.
There are potential futures that didn't happen because Frank bumbled around and wasted time and opportunity with tactical indecision, suboptimal lineups, and poor man-management. There are potential sequences he could have steered us towards where the team actually became stronger and more galvanized. Because of poor leadership those things didn't come to pass.

We're welllllllll short. Every one of the forward positions needs a huge upgrade. The full backs need upgraded. Keeper needs upgraded. The midfield needs completely upgraded. And then we have Noddy the elf who is the worst manager I've ever seen.

Ben could have been used more. Bergvall and Sarr could have been used more, and better. Frank spent most of the season playing a terrible combo of Palhinha and Bentancur, and has now setup the team so that we'll never feature Palhinha in his best natural central CDM role. I could go on and on about the way Frank has missed opportunities but it would be tedious. I really feel there is more talent to this team than has been shown, and Frank's failure to coach and manage effectively has been at the heart of it.

Even if he's used them well, we were never getting anywhere near 5th. Palinha is crap, hence Bayern freezing him out almost immediately and the odds of him being signed here are pretty much null. Our midfield is probably bottom 3/4 in the league, which is a big reason why we're so fucking dogshit.
