Match Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur, Friday 16 May 7:30 pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'd play the below team tonight:

Vicario
Spence Romero Danso Udogie
Gray Bissouma Sarr
Johnson Solanke Son

I'd like to see Bentancur, Porro and VDV get a full rest. Ideally, the below subs would be my preference.
60 mins: Davies for Romero
60 mins: Odobert for Udogie (Odobert plays in the 10, Gray moves to right back and Spence moves to left back)
60 mins: Richarlison for Solanke
70 mins: Tel for Son
70 mins: Moore for Johnson ( Moore can move to 10 if Odobert is struggling there)

I think this will help give us an idea for the final too as we'd get to see 3 CDM's play the first 60 mins, Odobert in the 10 for 20/30 and maybe even try Moore there for final 10 mins. We also get to see Gray and Sarr both playing in midfield to see how good they are. A full 90 for Danso playing as LCB for 60 mins and RCB for 30 mins gives him good exposure in case he'd needed to come on for one of the centre backs in the final too. I think this is the right balance of risk and rhythm.

Get out of town with that side. Unbelievable.

...unless you're joking, there's no WAY Ange will play 7 of Wednesday's likely starters tonight....
He tried that on Sunday with just THREE first teamers, and one came off!!
OTHER teams get the luxury of mixing it up.... WE don't apparently!

I reckon Romero, Van de Ven and Son get 45 minutes tonight.
Then don't expect them to get ANY minutes Wednesday!

Would you just play an entire second team? I was between 2 minds but given most our first 11 haven't played in 8 days, I thought playing some minutes would be beneficial! Otherwise most of our team would be going into the final cold off the back of a 13 day rest!
We gave Kulu 'minutes' on Sunday.... and he lasted 18 of them!

A 13 day 'rest' won't exactly be them sunning themselves in Dubai... but the training and maintaining of fitness(!) levels is far more beneficial than another 3 months on the Physios table!!!

I think we’ve seen enough of Sarr to know he is pants.

Hopefully my saying that is sufficient for him to get MOTM.

I have enjoyed your posts about personnel and tactics for this game and also those of the sensible posters responding.
