As for BJ, decent showing today, very happy for the kid. Still don't think he's quite the profile we want out there on the right though; doesn't take on his man enough or combine enough with the other forwards. Good at getting into the 6 yard box and handy on the transition when he's got space to run into. Question is how handy he'll prove to be against a parked bus.

Fair play to him, probably one of his biggest biggest critics but yesterday I thought he was really good.

Even in the previous fixtures he scored in I hadn’t thought his overall game had been that great, but yesterday he was superb in most actions he took and he looked more decisive in his decision making.

Still believe his position needs upgrading if we’re really going to try and get close to city and Woolwich but if he continues like this he could be an asset to the squad in the long run, hopefully it’s not just a little run of form and he can continue to push on.

And some cunts will be waiting for the favourite player to "kick a hattrick".

Quite weird how angry some of you will get at people for simply disagreeing about one of our players. Maybe you weren't hugged enough as a kid or something.

This is hilariously ironic considering that's EXACTLY how you hyper-critical and ultra-pessimistic types come across..... Right down to the "I'm merely being realistic" rationale typically banded about.

He was absolutely abject at the start of the season nobody can deny that. Last 2 games are probably the best all round displays he's produced for us to date. Now the challenge for him is to produce this level (not just the goals) on a consistent basis.

The greatest gift Johnson could have is to believe he belongs.

It ain't there quite yet as in fully but it feels like it is beginning to come.

4 goals in 4 games - all victories.

Plus assists.
And lets not forget the timings of his goals.
Scored the winner against Coventry to stop penalties.
Scored the goal the put us ahead against Brentford
Scored the goal that put us ahead 5 minutes after going down to 10 agaisnt Quarabag
Early goal to put us ahead in the first half and early goal assist in the 2nd half to kill the game against United.
These are all important goals, not adding a 4th when the team is already coasting.

Not very. But I think he was only ever brought in as a squad player anyway. Obviously against sides that sit deep we need someone with a bit more craft to his game. But my God is he effective when he has space to run into.

I think that it is dawning for everyone that he isn't a winger as much as he is a striker/second striker. He's a poacher and finisher rather than a playmaker.

When he was at Forest and they used a two striker formation Brennan was one of the two.
From February 2024
I posted some stat comparisons to PL wingers and his same comps when compared with PL strikers a month or two ago and he had significantly better numbers as a striker.
