Or Glanser loves him so much he wants to take him to United :ange-hands-head:

Johnson is a classic case of the 'eye test'. Great stats, especially last season but he just isn't up to it when you watch him pull out of a other tackle and not track his man back, take nobody on etc. Actually think he'll do well at palace and wish him no ill will. £35m is a decent price.

Hopefully a sign of things to come.

His direct competition on the RW is Kudus and Kulusevski who are both better players. If we decided to go with inverted wingers then his competition is Odobert and Richy (if/when Solanke is fit) who are arguably better players.

It was a strange signing in the first place for nearly £50M when you consider what that can buy you, but he goes with my best wishes

He's a very good player for a mid range PL team which hits on the break. Like at Forest. For us he should never have been a starter apart from matches v City etc, or against the stronger CL teams.

Last season he was a starter and we finished 17th in the PL. Despite all his goals.

This season he's not, and we're currently 11th, 7pts off Forest in 17th.

He would have been a good buy for say £25m, but £50m for a player that is only squad, terrible buy by Ange.

Glasner at Palace hits on the break so it might work there. Mateta is their out ball, so Johnson wouldnt be needed to hold the ball up. I wonder whether he'd play him as a striker off Mateta, his one on one finishing is very good.

If we still had Werner on the left, under instructions just to beat his man and get it across, then Johnson was pretty good at managing to get to the far post for tap ins like at City (when no one else had the pace to do it). Werner would beat his man most times and his crossing was fine. Those 2 combined very well.

I like Johnson, wish him well. But for us, not a good buy.

This is the type of sale we should make and have not made in the past. Having players run down their contracts because Levy cannot make a profit on them even though they do not fit sends the wrong message to everyone. We're effectively calling it quits and getting the book value for him. Get it done quick, get a replacement in, and move on. Hopefully this means Kulusevski is not far off returning. Only downside is we now have zero pace up top.

Johnson away Ole Ole...

Good luck to him. At the end of the day - we want to play possession based football, and he is not suited for it.

It can be win-win-win transaction - we get decent fee for player that will lose his value if he stays here.
Teams that are into him can get player who can even increase his value when playing counter-attack football.
And finally BJ won't have to do things on the pitch that he is not good at.
