Match Brentford (A) - 02Feb, 2pm - Live on Sky

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Mick, despite winning, they had more of the ball, higher XG, more shots and more corners.

If Ange comes out and says that was 'our football' etc. then his footbal is fucking shite.
We totally deserved the win organised hard working and committed - we excellently defended a lead (something Ange supposedly can’t do) Brentford had plenty of the ball means fuck all congratulations to the players and management on a great performance and fantastic win at a supposedly difficult venue coys we are staying up!!!

He's much more captain material than Son or Romero
I've never been a fan of Forwards or Goalkeepers as Captains... (wasn't keen on Lloris either)
I might be wrong, but apart from rare instances like maybe Dino Zoff, or Alan Shearer, there don't seem to be many Captains who thrive at the top/bottom ends of the pitch...

I much prefer a centrally positioned Captain, be that Defence or Midfield... it makes positional sense more than anything, but obviously, the player still has to have the bollocks and authority to carry it off!

I'd thought Bentancur might at one point be Captain material, but he's been absent for way too many large chunks of games, and is not exactly a regular starter... same goes with Romero.

Now he's moved more centrally, Kulu would be my personal choice.
But Davies (when he starts) like Kulu & Romero, is also an International Captain... so that has to count for something!

A team containing multiple Captains would be ideal... but when you think about it, we do have a fair few in and around the squad.

Just read back through various old threads , no one wanted Dier or Hjojberg kept here
Fucking right as well, Dier is fucking awful and Hojbjerg a very very limited midfielder. People had this idea he was defensively solid at the end because Ange was using him as a sub for legs around the 70-80 min mark in games we were largely winning, but he was crap as a 6, we saw that for a year under Conte. Used to just let people go past him and make no effort on a recovery. He's very much a "moments" player, he does have audacious passes and goals in his repertoire but they are very few and far between and largely he has very limited passing range and again, huge lapses in concentration and very "occasional" work rate.
As for Dier, people really want him back with an armband on in this high line system? Dier thinks tracking back means rewinding a CD for fuck sake.

Spence MOTM for me.

When everyone is back and fit, i think the RB-position should be his the rest of the season.

Both Porro and Udogie having a bad season.

I would probably go with:

Spence - Romero - VdV - Davies

Or this:

Spence - Romero - Danso - VdV

And how about young Archie Gray? The lad has been played out of position all season. RB, LB, CB, and he's done very well in all positions.

I'm really curious to see how he would manage the DMC role. I would be tempted to play him there instead of Biss when everyone is fit.
Gray over Biss any day. I see Biss as Dead weight. Time to sell. He's not what we need.

The vast majority wanted rid of Dier & PEH...... You're playing a thoroughluly bogus card there.
I didn’t want rid (thought they were given an unnecessarily hard time). No-one turns up aiming to be rubbish - they just didn’t fit the team’s needs at the time.

I’m constantly in awe of any professional sportsperson - I’d give them all a break if I could. However, the OP was about ‘leaders’ and they were two of them who were unceremoniously under-utilised and then moved on.

Unfortunately He still isn't EPL material. Not subbing Kulu or Son when they were so broken and are needed for the mid week clash, is nonsensical. We had youngsters that proved they are better than a tired Son or Kulu on the bench, yet he chose to stick with them. Injuries are bound to keep coming when pushing players to those limits.
The Trouble is look at that bench and tell me who you would bring on when 0-1 up away at one of the hardest grounds to go and win!?

My only change would have been to bring Mickey left and take Sonny off at half time but son assisted the second so What do I know

WrongIn the States, EVERYTHING but the sport is important. Munching on Pizza and beer in the stands. If they ever leave the hospitality areas.

I didn’t mind them. (Perhaps Dier’s time had come as he was painfully slow for any progressive DF). Every team needs a reasonably defensive MFer who can also progress the ball (and then a second to rotate with). We don’t have that at the moment- maybe Gray or Bergvall will become that but they’re both not ready at the moment to take on that full responsibility.
