The 'unbeaten' label is just a silly bragging right. At the end of the day, points matter if you want to move up the table.

1 win + 1 loss = 3 points
2 draws = 2 points (but unbeaten!)

While the maths are true, I think its more than bragging rights......it means, so far, in the PL we are unbeatable.
The only team all 4 divisions who have not experienced a league defeat this season. Maybe in Europe? Who knows.

Thats something the players will cling to like a jack russle as long as they can.

Yes you can go a season unbeaten and go down.
No, we wont go all season unbeaten of course.

But right now, it shows we are damn hard to beat (impossible as it stands)

Turn these draws into wins and we are flying. It only takes one goal to do that....Kane is back, and despite it all being a bit disjointed, we are not far off putting a few wins together.
Five points from Liverpool, City and arse away.

Chelsea lost to both arse (hammered) and Pool by way of contrast. Im glad we are unbeaten.

That's a fantastic song because of the complex nature of what it represents in the context of the film it was specifically written for.

I didn't realise it was written for the film (by two gay Jewish guys, excellent!), I'd always assumed it was a translation of an old song.

I started doing a bit of research but ended up on a couple of very dodgy sites, even after ignoring one called Stormfront which clearly wasn't hiding its affiliations

It seems to happen too often a player gets a knock and seems to disappear for weeks. This didn't happen years ago and the game was much more physical. Im hoping its an opportunity to rest players early on so we don't get a repeat performance as of the end of last season?

Hopefully your right! I'm just praying that's it now for us and injuries for this season!! :paulinhobored:

Top draw. That has to be one of creepiest endings to a musical ever

It's a stunning dark musical . Showing life in the decadent liberal bohemian Berlin against a
back drop of the rise of fascism.
A message that can be noted today with the rise of nationalism , buffoons Trump , Farage
and polite bigoted intolerance.

That last scene really creaps me out. The song is genuinely beautiful and the dissonance it creates with what the song heralds and the enthusiastic support of ordinary German is truly frightening.

It's horrifying but wrapped in beauty .
A rural dream , a choir boy Hitler youth ,
the old man who looks away in sadness to
the devastating reality ahead.
It sums everything up in a matter of minutes . Quality rarely seen in today's cinema , a masterpiece.

But for all those words it would have been better to have 1 pt more & not be unbeaten.
I don't think the players are playing like they have the confidence or swagger of a team who can't be beat.
& they are used to losing in the cups anyway.

I don't think the players & poch will look too much in to the unbeaten thing.

Equally, I don't think it will be a big blow when we lose the unbeaten tag. I think they will quickly move on.

Personally I think if we had lost at Woolwich, we wouldnt have come back and beat West Ham, but thats just a guess.

Of course it would have been better to lose to WBA and beat Liverpool, or vice versa, points wise.
But we didnt, and you can go a whole season theortically swapping out results. It doesnt change the facts tho.

We drew, and while its better to win, its still better than losing.

I think when we click, people will feel a bit silly for talking about relegation form, because we drew 4 games

The unbeaten good / bad argument only matters if you think that it changes the way that the team plays. The concern is that the players are becoming risk averse in order to maintain the unbeaten record.

Which they're not imo. Look at the desire to go on and win after the equaliser against the spammers. if anything the "7 games without a win" record was more of a prominent statistic before last weekend's game.

Of course it would be better to be winning more games. That is the team's intention every game im sure. Yes a loss and a win is better than two draws. But you cant correlate games like that. i.e taking a loss in one game is no guarantee of a win in the next.

Short answer: If our out of form / fitness forward players start converting more chances and our defense maintains its record of not conceding. Then we will win more games.

German marching songs are really quite stirring, a tribute to their musical pedigree.
You have to shake your head and concentrate on the message in them. The song from Cabaret was awesome in the way that it captured that musical beauty and superimposed the master race message into it, almost subliminally.

Pretty much agree with this.

Last season we had way too many draws at one stage, goalscoring was a problem.

This season, the only draw that we really should have won was Leicester at home, where we still hit the bar twice and Janssen came very close a couple of times. West Brom away - created loads and their keeper played out of his skin. And no shame in drawing away at Bournemouth - they should be aiming for 7th-8th spot this season. Goons away, a half fit Kane, no Dele, no Toby - what a point to get!

The games where Kane and Son have played, we've created chances and scored goals. Even without Toby we're still conceding very few.

Toby ought to be back well before Man U away. In the meantime we've got a shitty match at Chavs, and home v Swans. I'll be gutted if we lose Saturday for obvious reasons. It won't stop us challenging for title.

yeah, I just don't think it has much bearing on how we do in each game.
if we lose to chelsea, I don't think that will mean we will struggle to beat swansea in our next game because of this. It is a totally different game & I think the players are strong enough to pick themselves up after a loss.

Then a tactical change, and 6 wins and 6 clean sheets.

And we have a depleted squad now.

Still, no matter how reprehensible we perceive Chelsea to be, they aren't as disgusting as this lot when they (momentarily) go top of the league:

I will always hate Woolwich more & the most.
But I sort of get why some of us are starting to hate chelsea more.
I think quite a few on here hate chelsea more now. I will always hate Woolwich more no matter what though.

Most of you are probably too young to remember the kids programmes of the 70's and 80's where "gunging" contestants and the like was the "go to" entertainment vehicle for showing displeasure or failure.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if a button existed on the board - so that when the match thread carping, whining, commentary wankbags get on their punditry high horse, or the "it might be good enough for you - but it's certainly not good enough for me" crowd start posting at a furious rate - we could select the "gunge" button - and a cesspit emptying truck would reverse up to the room with their PC in it, and fire 35,000 gallons of raw sewage straight at them?

Perhaps all of their posts could be presented through a sepia mist, just to let them know that everyone's fed up with their shit?

I would definitely do the cesspit truck thing if I was elected president.

Or Graham Norton's red chair!

First sign of melting pull the lever!
